So had my leaf springs replaced recently do to a really bad vibration when braking. The shop told me there was play in the leaf springs. Everything seems fine aside from this massive gap that I don’t remember being there. Is that normal? 2015 Cascadia.

Thanks for posting a picture. Does it look crack, bent, or broken? Not sure what gap you are referring to specifically. Otherwise, this looks normal to me.

Generic photo of front suspension shackle area:

Ok this helps. The right side of your photo is the gap I am referring to. No it’s not cracked bent or broken.

Both sides should look the same.

The noticeable gap is probably because of the new bushings. When they’re deteriorated, the gap will close some.

The gap is normal, remember the springs flex, each are a different length and stiffness they need to have room allowed for movement

    That’s a wrapped leaf. It’s correct.
