Been with USX since mid December.
My dispatcher/FM tells me the account I'm on only pays for miles and extra stops on a run, nothing else, due to the contract USX has with this dedicated account customer.
This customer has me waiting sometimes as much as 12 hours to get loaded. I don't get paid for half the miles from last stop to next shipper, meaning half the time those miles never get put into the load. I also don't get paid for the times I have to drive my truck to a OC for maintenance and then from there to the next shipper.
A couple months ago I tried talking with my dispatcher about it and he told me I was nickle and dime'ing him, and said he would start nickle and dime'ing me if I continued to argue about it.
all in all, I don't get any detention pay, missing on average of about 10-20% miles each week on my check, and I'm ready to just up and quit. I ran this same account with a different carrier before they lost the contract, and even though the previous carrier paid me a full 5 cents less per mile and their trucks were governed a full 5mph slower, I made on average upwards to $200 more per week with them.
is this normal practice with USX? Ty

It might be normal for them to not pay waiting time, but why stay if they do that to you..?
pattyj Thanks this. -
You're not getting paid much anyway and then not getting paid for all the sitting and taking your trk in for maintenance.I would find another job or get off that account along with requesting a different dispatcher.

there are plenty of companies near harrisburg. apply and call them. and make sure they dont use qualcoms or eobrs for freedoms sake!
learn as much as you can and kick and scream for freedom till the end! -
It may be normal for that account, but it's not normal in general. I get paid for detention time and all miles, including empty moves. Maybe you should try OTR.

Rude FM, no detention pay, fighting for reimbursements, and missing miles was the norm while i was there. Also no pay for the elusive mt even if you spend half ur day looking, couldve just been my fm cuz she was just flat out mean! But bottom line I wasnt goin to waste my time fighting with them for what I was entitled to per company policy, writing is on the wall, try to get a new fm or start lookin for a new job, i choose the latter
