Called validation of an idea.
Idea validation is the process of gathering evidence around ideas through experimentation to make fast, informed and de-risked decisions.
Nothing wrong with this. Sometimes you get in your mind, an idea that you are not quite sure about.
Let's think of it like this.
I want to add a food item to my menu at my restaurant. Fried shark fins. So, I ask people if they like my fried shark fins. Some will say they are good, other say bad, and some say, "if you thought this was a good idea, you wouldn't have asked us"
Nicolaus Copernicus Had this goofy idea that the universe didn't revolve around earth. Goofy and unworkable.
Not all ideas that sound bad, are bad ideas. Doing market research, and asking others input, is a valid form of question.
Short of there being a stickied post here that says "no one should buy a step deck, or you are a fool" my question is in fact valid. Not valid because I want to own a step deck (actually I want a RGN, but my market doesn't support it) but because if stepdecks didn't make money, no one here would have them. Same goes for flat beds, dry vans, bulk carriers. All of them can make money.
There are three types of people who answer questions. Type one gives a well thought out answer, detailed as possible, they enjoy helping others. Type two gives a quick concise answer, and goes on with life. Type three sees a question and offers ridicule, or other comments that are unhelpful, or a generalized warning that is easy for the person asking to dismiss, because they see the lack of time and thought in the answer. The third are the type of person who would say, "all mack trucks are complete ####" to someone looking for a new mack truck. They don't explain why, or just offer an opinion such as, mack transmissions are ####, because the one they heard about was.
Is this the WRONG time to get a flatbed?
