^ what he said, if no leak, clean the puncture area, put some tire glue or bead sealing compound in the hole, let it dry to seal the area to prevent moisture ,etc. and run it. I have done this many times and never had a problem.
is this tire still ok to run?

Oh my! My head hurts from laughing so hard! If it aint leaking you run it! There is no damage to the integrity of the tire, you just had a screw penetrate the rubber
-
The facts suggest otherwise.

if it doesn't leak don't be worried about it.
and who says you can only patch a steer once, id like to see the reg on that. not saying it don't exist but iv never heard of it.
even if it does exist dot isn't going to dismount your tire and count patches. -
I should clarify a bit on this. I have roughly 1/2" of tread depth and the screw was 3/4" long. Since it was flush with the top of the tread there was roughly 1/4" that was actually into the tire, but it looks like it went in more at an angle and probably just got into the tire enough that I could feel a belt with the pick. I'll keep an eye on it so see if it looses air and will try putting some tire glue in to seal it up.

yes!!! its the worst thing you can do is drive on the tire that holds air and the pressure case of the tire isnt punctured, if you even suspect that the tire will blow out because of a small nail that didnt puncture it , change the tire. Its better to be safe than sorry and buy some new rubber so i can use your throw aways on my truck
. Better yet take the Hub assembly off to make sure it didnt break the spindle berrings. Drive the tire, like others said dismount the steer, push a ice pick or something thru the tire and patch it.

if it leaks at all get it patched if it doesn't leak don't be worried about it.
