The law is that you must use a hands free device, so your bluetooth headset is fine legally. However, many companies don't allow even that, so perhaps Swift is one of those. You must be completely stopped in order to use your phone with those companies. My dad drives for Linde. They haul industrial gases, and they cannot use a cell phone unless their vehicle is parked, blue tooth or not. They also are installing cameras in the truck, facing out, and IN the truck to monitor the driver's actions for up to ninety minutes, and can also do random checks of video and audio.
As long as driver's insist on texting, emailing, talking on the phone while backing into docks and parking spots, watching movies while driving, etc., we will continue to see these actions taken by employers. Drivers, how the hell did they get along without cell phones before they existed? If it isn't your significant other, child, or your boss, it isn't important. Those that are important will just have to understand that you can't answer your phone everytime it rings.
While we are on that topic, please wait until you are done crapping before you call your girl, and why the hell would you answer your phone while you are in the middle of dumping anyway? I don't like public restrooms the way it is, let alone having to worry about your girl hearing me blow crap out of my bung.
Have a nice day.WitchingHour, 123456, teddy_bear6506 and 3 others Thank this. -

I lasted one year with swift and I can tell you its true of what is being said to a certain extent they are going to try to stop all cell phone use and they won't let you have an apu and they really are not driver friendly when it comes to helping you get the miles you need to pay for your leased truck. I couldn't handle the way they kept adding more and more rules to burden you down with and they penalize you when you need to turn down a load or ask for home time.

Bro I worked for Swift for a year It was a nightmare!!! everything that driver was saying is true! they are slave drivers that dont give a crap about you, there a turn and burn driver factory, your just a number in a seat they dont care about you , your family or anything else that you do. I could never get home when i needed to, I made crap money, There are no creature comforts at all. No APU"s no inverters, even the plug in type, No fridge, no micro, minimal Idle time, #####y lying DM's Im telling you there the worst. Then when I got fed up and put my resume on jiggy jobs, they found out i was applying for other jobs and they terminated me for no reason 1300 miles from home with all my stuff and no way home exept a greyhound bus ticket. The phoenix terminal Mgr "Bret Farley" is a Two faced lying #######! It cost me $450 in extra baggage fees to get my stuff home, then on top of it all they posted Lies on my DAC to keep me from finding another job. It took three months to get it fixed. I found other work but the fact they played it like that should tell you how they are. STAY AWAY FROM SWIFT!!!!!!!!!scottied67 Thanks this.

Just trying to get some clarification on this. SNI does allow up to 500 watts? I was told 180 watts.

I hear this all the time, and to be honest it gets a bit tiresome. While it is true you have to put effort into being a good driver, still there are some company's that have open contempt for their drivers. You see it in their pitiful driver lounges etc etc. The crappy equipment you operate and most of their trailers are an OOS order waiting on a place to happen. No matter how much effort you put into being a good driver, in the end you are nothing but a warm body holding a steering wheel to them. I have no idea about Swift and my post is not about Swift, just saying.scottied67 Thanks this.

LOL! I wonder what they would do if you have a rider.. You and the ol lady in the back getting it on, and suddenly they pop in.. HAHAHAHA..

Really though.. I doubt they would put one pointing IN, but I don't doubt them putting one pointing OUT. -
You can use if you have Bluetooth. But also know that they broadened the borders for texting at the same time. More than the push of one button to end/begin/answer or disconnect a call now falls under texting. If you reach for your phone and are not in a 100% seated and driving position...... texting fine. I don't use mine period by choice. Think if you were to get into a fatality accident and you were following the law, using your Bluetooth headset..... you go to court and they get your phone records and point out you were on the prohibited God awful cellphone while driving. NOW PROVE YOU WERE ON YOUR HEADSET/BLUETOOTH. They got you either way.
