The link I posted before now goes to a different FAQ question so they removed the example for both Common and Contract carrier authorities that was there before saying they would be $600.

There is also a user in the thread at http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...thority-and-my-progression-2.html#post3610316 that was able to get both for $300 so the FAQ just had old information before and they have updated it within the last week apparently.

Sorry for posting bad info but it was straight from the FMCSA FAQ.

they don't have to give out your info, it becomes public knowledge and you will be solicited til the end of time, even if you file it yourself

Thanks, marlin46, for the tip. I was just puzzled by this. Last year I filed for my authority. A minute after the submission had a call from InterstateAuthority. They offered bunch of things for a fee. I only paid them to file boc-3 to save time; everything else filed myself. This month they send me an email stating my boc-3 will "expire" and they want another $75 to "renew" it for next year. Didn't see that catch, for they didn't even send me their "fine print," and to my recollection they never mentioned their "boc-3 annual fee." Stupid me. Will put a request to OOIDA next week to refile my boc-3. Live and learn... Thanks again
