Im not exactly sure what youre referring to when you say im not ready. Not ready for my own truck i assume?
As for driving with the bad equipment i was under the assumption that it was their truck so its their problem if its caught. Both are owner ops. This is why ive been hesitant to stand up to them as well. Knowing all the responsibility lies on my shoulders changes that.
I think tomorrow i will call and first ask to be tested out. When that fails ill ask to be put with another trainer. Third times a charm right?
Thanks for the info i will certainly be more assertive knowing i have full responsibilty even though its not my truck.
I live in western massachusetts. Pittsfield would be the closest city to me. I would like to stay with werner for now if i can but its always good to have options.
Is this worth it?

An example is the trailer tandems axle setting not being correct for California; get caught and you get the ticket, not the owner-operator that's training you.passingthru69, BUMBACLADWAR, Toomanybikes and 3 others Thank this. -
Abilene Motor Express will probably hire you right now. Their trucks run 72 mph and have refrigerators and 1800 watt inverter, etc.

DoubleO7 and Rocknroller4 Thank this. -
I was debating bringing that up. But it will have to be truly a terrible trainer to set trainee like that and stab same in the back. Im the one taking heat at the scales for my trainee most of the time.
Now we find out it's a owner operator training this trainee? If so/.. then we have a problem. Werner should know better than to do that.Rocknroller4, 48Packard and Chinatown Thank this. -

Because you didn't know what your responsibilities are.
You have your cdl, you should know what that means because it is more than just being licensed to drive a truck. -
If you mean whos responsibility things fall on then no i didnt know but when im alone i dont need to. Everything is on mex1Heavy Thanks this. -
x1Heavy Thanks this.

Yeah you think you do but you don't, all the housekeeping crap and delivery crap isn't the issue, your responsibility goes to everything that happens with that truck when you are in command of that truck, and that goes for the fact that you allowed yourself in that situation especially allowing the falsification of your logs, this is where the line is drawn and no excuse.
Remember that I'm not being critical for any other reason than wanting to see you succeed at this. If he, the trainer isn't going to tell you, then others will like me. As I also said that cdl is to be protected and if that means throwing others under the bus to do so, then by all means do it. I would have called safety right in front of the guy if he said to falsify a log entry, I don't care what he thinks.jzw, Midnightrider909, BUMBACLADWAR and 2 others Thank this.
