Go to work for whoever you want. No one owns you. You don’t owe these Strangers anything. Get used to folks trying to manipulate you and trying to take advantage of you. Be aware!!! Don’t let it happen. Avoid the tough lessons learned. Make the most of your Life/ Career. It’s your Life.Your decisions. Don’t be a Sucker. I’m out of things to say!!!! (Rare) !!! Good Luck
Is this wrong or would it be fairly common?

I really really wish people would name companies, being cryptic doesn't offer any way to advise someone.TripleSix and Midnightrider909 Thank this.

The advice he is asking for, the company name, doesn't really matter or even enter into the equasion.
He is asking if it is a bad move to take a job as a stepping stone basically.
My thought is no.
Now, if it is werner with the DG job, he got some good advice he didn't ask for.Teb1987 Thanks this. -
Get the application process going at the earliest the company will accept it. Wouldn't hurt to research some other companies while you are at it, in case your #1 doesn't come through.
That new cdl holders are stuck with a low paying mega for a year is a myth. Good jobs are out there.jmz, Rideandrepair, Teb1987 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Being intentionally vague because it's a public forum and it wasn't necessarily pertinent, and I don't want anything affecting my chances before I even get started.
Also, thanks kemosabi, the place I'm looking at is by all accounts one of the better places in my neck of the woods and seems to be flexible with home time as long as you are performing which is also important to my wife and kidsRideandrepair Thanks this. -
That's right; apply right now to the company you want. Don't wait until graduation.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Son, the fact that you’re getting CDLs makes you a diamond in the rough. You will have your pick of companies. The rest of us with our measly single CDL have to take what we can get! Congrats.D.Tibbitt, stevep1977 and Midnightrider909 Thank this.

Ah one of those huh? The pressure of never spelling anything wrong and typing correctly your whole life must weigh heavily on you at night knowing the rest of us mortals will never reach your enlightened state. God bless you my son, you are doing God's work heretarmadilo Thanks this.

Really you may not get this, while this is a public forum, the admins and other powers don't let just anyone into the secret vault of names and personal info. I have to commend them all for this, it is hard to do, especially when the powers are actually very neutral to members.
you have a moniker, you are protected unless you want to tell the world who you are so ... as one who knows a lot more from my drivers, there are reasons why we all wonder who these companies are, mainly to warn others of the pitfalls so to avoid what you are going through. -
When I was in CDL school I thought it was great that they offered lifetime job placement, until I figured out that meant they pushed jobs on students that offered them the biggest referral fees. Don't fall for the hype and look out for yourself. In addition to pay and mileage guarantees, find out what their benefit packages are like, how much of each paycheck it will cost you for those benefits, and get it all in writing before accepting the job. Recruiters will lie through their teeth to sign you up and get their commission. There are hundreds of stories here from drivers who were promised a lot of things that they never got. Don't be a sucker.
Rideandrepair Thanks this.
