All said its still pretty neat stuff tho... u have to admit.

I dont see diesel-electrics being too far fetched tho, industry standard in locomotives for ages now. Seeing as how electrics have max torque at 0 RPM, I'm kinda surprised they havent gotten more attention already. And the transmissions would be massively simplified as well. You could get by with as little as 2 speeds.

When I worked at Fort Knox, it was pretty cool to see the M1A1's scooting around post. Trust me, you DID NOT want to tailgate those bad boys. And the gas-turbines are extremely loud, Lord knows what it would sound like at 65mph down the big road.
