I doubt they are going out of business but I'm sure they are cutting back because of the shortage in freight. There has been a TON of John Deere gear rolling around here in Des Moines the past week so I don't think they lost any of that account. Also with Alcoa, the only thing I've heard is that a couple of drivers were let go on Tuesday because Alcoa dimed them out for violating the Alcoa safety rules when they were getting loaded, specifically they were on the trailer when it was being loaded. I saw the e-mails that Alcoa sent TMC in our orientation on Thursday which I thought was pretty low, but it did get the message across. One of those drivers had several years in with TMC. I've been talking with a lot of drivers here in the Des Moines terminal, and the two most common opinions are that they are getting rid of a lot of drivers or they are getting rid of a lot of problem drivers. Judging from what I'm reading on this forum I'd say the first is definitely true and the second is probably mostly true.
Is TMC going Under???

riddlemethis Thanks this.

Thanks for the link rookietruck. It still does not provide proof that TMC has filed bankruptcy, as TMC nor Annett Holdings is listed.

Well, if there is nothing on here and nothing turns up on google, I would guess they haven't filed bankruptcy as of yet.
Rawlco Thanks this. -
I have heard a lot of things lately and I think were there is smoke there is fire. I have heard that TMC's credit is basically non existent and that is why Blue Beacon won't extend them any credit so this is the reason TMC cut back on washes is because they don't have the $$$ to pay for them. Another point on this is I heard from someone on the inside that there credit line with Greyhound was shutoff as well because they didn't pay their bills so they couldn't get bus tickets for their new drivers to get to orientation.
Anyone else heard some things?Last edited: Oct 22, 2009

I don't think they are going down, but they are trimming every where they can to save money. But nobody really knows in this economy if they are or aren't. Hopefully they can stay afloat till things get better. If it gets worse there they will lose a lot of good experienced drivers maybe.

A freind of mine was driving for them untill today said they are folding up he said his check bounced ? I cant say for sure but it dont look good for them. and i heard last week that they will not sponsor the race car next year

They are not sponsoring Micheal now. His present sponsor is Pilot and he drives for Germain Racing is the Nationwide Series. He's doing pretty good for a rookie.
