Its the business. I mean really as I said before 12hand an hour or so ain't bad money considering I made about 9the an hour working security and got shot at 3a times and hit once. But yeyeah trainees pay is what it is at least if you did they're academy they don't take money out yet

You shouldn't go off duty if you are at the shipper. You should log 15 minutes on duty to check in, go in the sleeper until loaded, then log 15 minutes on duty to check out. Or log the entire time there at the shipper on duty which will quickly burn your hours. Anyone that takes a pay cut to train is a fool. You should be getting paid for all the miles at your current rate and training pay on top of that. I was a trainer at Roehl and one of my old students was a trainer at Prime with that kind of system. I made more driving 3000 miles a week than he did driving 5000 miles. I also got a lot more sleep.

My check was better because I stayed on duty at the shipper. I know that's not what your suppose to do but really you are. Its here nor there though. even when I did stay on duty at the shipper I was able to still get in my 10 or so hours it wasn't much added to my check but its enough to make me a little more happier so I can eat and pay my bills. I need to get done with this BS training. I dislike this mentor. I am learning stay but he could be a little more friendly towards me. I catch him doing the same things he is on me about which I find very stupid but what can you do you get through it.

No training pay is not fair at all unless you are running 10 everyday then I believe you could make more than what they use to pay. Nothing is fair at Swift

Come on Bill, they were fair to you when you wanted to get back into trucking. You have just had a bad time lately with all that has gone on. I've been here nearly nine years and don't have any complaints about them being fair to me.

You're not out of Houston and not OTR ATM.... They have not been fair to me at all always finding away to take my breakdown, layover and now detention pay.. They have done so much to me in the past year I'm amazed that I did not quit last year.. The planners or CSR what ever you want to call them are worthless. I already knew how to drive before I came here and I will continue to drive when I leave here.

You can only take so much before you finally just say the hell with it.. It's not worth it when i can go right down the street to mickie D's and make just as much and be home. Ive giving it chance after chance and now cannot do it with swift any longer..

Bluebonn you are right. I have been been screwed out of layover and Detetion pay twice just this week
Myself. As they say it really boils down to your dm. It can really make or break your experience here at
Swift. I am on day seven on my request for home time. Should get home in about ten days. For the people who like it great and more power to you. Blue I am in your camp as its time to stop getting fleased and find a better situation

When I went through training with Swift last year, I got paid $450/week for the first 4 weeks and the next 2 were $500/week. It didn't matter how much you drove or how much you sat. I worked hard and finished in just over 4 weeks thinking "now I'll make some real money." Little did I know my training pay was better than far too many of my weekly settlements over the past year.

Forget layover pay, there is always some excuse not to pay it. Same with detention. Good luck getting reimbursed for anything, even when you jump through all the hoops and do everything exactly how you are supposed to.
