    Hi Everyone,
I have 2019 VNL 860 with factory installed Cab Power system. My webasto can run with batteries only 2 hours and battery voltage going below 12V. I don’t like to idle truck so I bought a 3500 watt generator and plugged to cab power power inlet. Generator run all electric devices and charge the batteries. But both driver and sleeper a/c heaters didn’t work. Both systems fan activated but didn’t heat so I have use webasto for heating.
I’m wondering is shore electric can run the sleeper A/C. My sleeper has indipendent factory A/C unit. I couldn’t try it because of winter. Yes it’s still winter at Chicago
    Thank you

your bunk heater should easily run 10 hours without kicking the low voltage alarm.. you need new batteries..

By independent sleeper ac no its not independent... it just has controls in the back for temp ac/heat but it's still powered by the truck. Truck not running no ac in the front or back. Same as heat, that's why you have a bunk heater. If it was truly independent it would have 4 extra batteries (total of 8) to power it

    Siinman and Kanca Thank this.

Your sleeper AC only works if the engine is running. It is tied to the main AC system and is not quite independent. You should replace batteries, also clean your grounds at the battery bridge as well as frame rail, also clean positives at battery bridge and alternator. Spray the grounds and positives with red battery terminal protective paint.

When batteries don't last. It's time to replace.
