    Hello,
Volvo i-shift makes grinding noise and takes a second when going into 8 or 9 gear. Once it's in everything works just fine. Gears 1-7 switches fine and 10-12 also works great. New clutch and all oils at normal levels. Had Truck connected to computer and it's showing mechanical failure, no check engine light on.Truck drove 7k miles with this issue, will be put out of service so this issue can be resolved.
I heard it could be a splinter in the transmission, or some other mechanical failure. Any advice where this can be fixed and what are my options.
    Thank you

Replace. Sounds defective if it's new like you said.

Better make sure you changed your air dryer cartridge regularly !! they can refuse warranty if they find water in the shifting assembly.... Just a heads up.
