One more thing to learn. Did you ? Having your own authority can be one hell of an eye opener and is full if pit falls and quick sand. CHRobinson brokerage is one I will not haul for. They are rude, crude and socially unacceptable. Past experience. You will learn as you progress. One or two lessons may be financially painful but you will survive.

No I didn't cross into different time zone. The issue was they were open until 1500 but stopped loading at 1300. Is it possible for me to get paid for the layover, considering we are team drivers and That is a lot of time lost.

Doubtful you will collect layover. You said you have our own authority and unless this is a customer of yours and you have an agreement with them for detention and layover in your contract with them. If you brokered this I think you will have to bite the bullet. As was said . Make the calls no matter what the broker says. It is CYA.
That being said. Put your business hat on and talk to the broker that sent you the confirmation. Explain to them of the discrepancy in times and ask if they will compensate you. Nothing to lose, money to gain. Worth a try I would think. If the broker refuses to work with you simply put them on your Do Not Load for list. -
That will happen a lot when youre dealing with a broker. Best thing to do is when you get an appt that late, call the consignee to make sure they are going to be there and confirm your appt time. -
Another little "trick" brokers do telling the truck company load needs to be tarped, when in reality, it doesn't. They sell their services and include tar ping to get the load from the shipper.
