This company needs to provide specific routes also since they know its a big deal, and i know truckers don't have time to be going backwards if they are on a high route if they have never been there before
There's a driver that just got fired where I work now, and he was just the nicest, most enthusiastic guy you could imagine. We started at the same, and he sat behind me in orientation. The second day of the orientation, I thought, your gonna be the one that gets in bad trouble, just cause he had such a great attitude, figured he'd go too fast, or he'd say yes too many times to the impossible. And sure enough he F up bad, now he's really F, cause he going have a DAC problem as well. OP, you just can't be too nice. You can't be ######## either, but if your too nice, especially to bad brokers, you will get eaten alive.
That makes me sad! but I know exactly what you mean, i kept telling my driver (dad) that i wasn't going to take it any longer, and idc i need to get this truck on the road, i will sell these darn chips on the street if i have to just to get the broker moving you know? but he said no we can't talk to them like that. and thats why we lost 6 days. I am done being nice and patient, we are a small business this mishap is causing us to lose so much money
Like others have said you can't assume they are going to watch out for you. The better ones might but who knows. You gotta start reading those BOL's very carefully and raise the paranoia level a tad regarding what even goes in that trailer. Anything perishable, food items, food-grade items, anything with a freeze-protect warning in the winter time...oh yeah, that stuff can get you.
