You're still bragging on an engine making it "all the way" to 700K. How the heck did that become "good"?

Wasn't but a decade ago N14's routinely made it to twice that before needing overhauled.

No one's bragging. I'll brag at 800K though.

Just wanted to see what all the haters had to say, aside from,"You'll shoot your eye out."

Didn't know 1 thread was bragging either. So sorry. Won't happen again.

The 2250 still beats a newer Cat any day of the week.

    ISX UPDATE!!!!

    We has clocked 720K miles.

Most recently had the rear gasket - flywheel housing, rear main seal, motor mounts, clutch ( complete ), carrier bearing, and shaft macheened. $5K

The question now is, and this is the question man has asked from the dawn of time....

Do the gear housing gasket ( $5K )

    OR

Do the gear housing gasket and basic inframe
    ( $17K )

Both at the same time would be about
    ( $19.5K ).

I just don't think it needs an inframe yet. But I do need to do that gear housing gasket.

I have a question as the the epa 07 vs 13 vs now X15 have they fixed the prior issues with the prior and updating as they improve or just sell a new product with same problem and a few new ones? Ive seen some X15 for sale at good deals but dont trust the motor as its had major problems in the life of its production and as i work on my own truck is there software that allows you to program and calibrate parts.? Ive seen the davies software on YouTube just not in person to know if it will work for repairs

There's a couple X15 threads. I'd ask there. Mines the CM2250 ISX death engine.

What year? I'm driving a 2016 ISX, whole company except one truck runs them, but we're foolish and do a frivolous PM every 10k. It does gulp half a gallon of coolant at odd times every few months, keeps me vigilant.

2016 is the updated one. It has an extra piston ring. Lot less hassle from what I'm told.

    bzinger and speedyk Thank this.
