I am new to cummins engine so please excuse my ignorance. I am looking to purchase a 09 volvo with 485 cm871. Truck wont regen, new turbo on the truck and dealer cleaned dpf. I included screenshots of faults from insite to see if anyone can tell me what the issue may be. Truck has just under 600k miles. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you took pictures all at same time?
1. Regeneration will not start with codes active. On pic 6 it says regeneration inhibited due to active code.
2. EGR valve need cleaning or replacing. It open slightly when should be close.
If you can avoid to buy this truck do it immediately.
Nothing but problems. -
I am not commited to buying the truck, I could get the truck for very cheap which is the only reason I am looking at it. Is the engine or aftertreatment the issue, or both? The pictures are all from the exact same time during a regen when the low temp fault logged.

The aftertreatment injector is showing closed I would believe this is where the problem lies?
-
Who was working with Insite?
I see the data not from engine ECM live. It is from ECM image. The computer is not connected to ECM. -
Yes it is a ecm image from when I had a tech friend looking at the truck. He is not very familiar with the emissions systems.

I will be back in 1 hour.
Chevyho Thanks this. -
Aftertreatment injector will stay closed until all required parameters are met.
Engine temperature, DPF temperature and many other.
Injector definitely need to be replaced if during regeneration
Insite say injector is ON
Afterteatment injector fuel pressure is 250 PSI or more
DOC intake temperature start rising up to 600 F
DPF temperature start rising after fuel injected should reach 1000F - 1100F
Most common reason for bad regeneration is leaking exhaust. If dealer was in DPF 100% they didn't put new gaskets.
Crank case pressure is to high in this engine. Be ready for inframeChevyho Thanks this. -
