Dont got one, business been really bad for me right now. Btw whats a good cat motor? I dont know anything about cats but i might swap it out. If i do which cat is good for 600plus hp?
nikmirbre Thanks this. -
I applaud your honesty. Sometimes it takes things like this to change things financially towards the good. What changed my savings attitude was I had a Volvo that was in the shop what seemed to be every week!! I had it almost 3 years and it ran good for only 6 months. My next truck I learned to save big time!!!
Now about switching engines without getting into what would fit I would say a 6nz!!Black389 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
You had a thread earlier this year with raw fuel leaking out the manifold, a leaking HP fuel pump, and a flaking camshaft with very low MPG. Did you ever get those issues taken care of?
Most any 3406E, C-15, or C15 can be built for 600 HP easily. The 5DS, 1MM 3406E and 7CZ C-16 could come 600 HP from the factory. With your financial restraints, do you really need a 600 HP motor?haycarter, daf105paccar, Roberts450 and 6 others Thank this. -
Have to agree with you on this one

If you're already broke you can't afford yellow, and it's going to take a lot more than just a couple months to earn the money for a good rebuilt cat and have it put in. A good rebuilt we'll say 2ws could run you 40k by the time you get it in, you could go a little cheaper maybe and could easily spend more. I just had my 6TS e model out of framed by a friend, cost 20k with interstate mcbee parts and the good friend hourly rate.Kw Owners Club, Cat sdp, wore out and 3 others Thank this.

Yeah the cause of bad mpg was my worn cam. I was getting ready to get it installed but this #### happened.

I really dont wanna get rid of the truck because i know id never be able to get back in a 389

Honestly, if you're having trouble paying to repair this, the last thing I'd be concerning myself with would be trying to build a performance Cat engine and then trying to swap it in.
Crude Truckin', Diesel Dave, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this.
