Maybe you and your brother are better brothers but I wouldn't want to go that route myself. I'd be looking at an n14 swap instead of a cat, they're a little cheaper to find and build, still going to hurt though.

My brother found a shop he has a 99 n14 for 21k installed and a cat 3406e and a c15 99 for 25k installed. He will over haul it then install it. And hes letting me pay him in payment plan. Ik i hit rock bottom but i dont wanna give up trucking. And my brother is helping me to stay in business.

I run lot of hills and n14 I believe is 450hp and i have permit to haul heavy so 450 wont work for me. In Idaho i haul 84k

You can do that but i believe it is illigal to put that motor in a emision truck

It would be considered a glider. And he won’t be able to run Cali.

I’m in Cali, all I know as a fact, he won’t be able to run here legally with a yellow motor unless he runs the aftermarket DPF, and that’s legal only until the end of this year.
