Unless caught with booze in the truck or in the body. Then you're out!
Not like baseball 3 strikes and you're out. Booze in the truck and 1 strike and you're out!

When my son graduated h.s. we went to a college fair. He wanted to go to tge " school of art" booth. I advised him it wasn't a good plan. He went to a local ut campus and after alot of yrs got a ba degree in anthropology. He works at Barnes and noble now. I urge him to teach but he hasn't taken action yet.
He used to love to draw. He had literally stacks full of his sketches.
I regret not encouraging him to go into graphic design. He could have majored in that instead.

I’m not one to put a damper on anyone’s dreams. And trucking can indeed be a good way for a steppingstone to making it happen. However, it can be very hard to walk away from once you’re in it, especially doing OTR. If you think you’ll have time to work these little side things while doing OTR, you’re dreaming. You might fool yourself for a little while, but reality that OTR is actually your life will hit you soon enough. And then you have to decide if you want to give up that pretty good weekly paycheck to try and pursue some pipe dream that may or may not happen. And then you’ll eventually succumb and just settle back in to nice paycheck that you get doing OTR and that Dream takes a backseat. at least that’s the story I hear. Now maybe you’ll mess something up while out here doing OTR and then you’ll have to pursue that second backup plan. If you run hard, you’re probably pulling more in a week than you would in a month at a lot of jobs. That’s hard to walk away from into the unknown. Just sayin.

Why do people seem to think there is a pot of Gold behind the steering wheel of a truck?

I had a girlfriend who was a spectacular artist. She went to University for some sort of art degree, went into debt, found out their really are not jobs in being some class of artist. Switched to environmental studies because everyone is pissing their pants over global warming. Now she makes bank reinforcing people's beliefs that Greta Thunberg is a god. She says it's all crap but it pays the bills.

Be careful a Prime mole is not reading your thread. I would doubt they would hire you knowing you're just there for a short while.
