    Something's wrong.

If I set mine on 68 you could cook a 14 pound ham in here.

    I leave it on 64. Mine's a tri pac.

But yours should work just as well. Try leaving the key off, and just turning the bunk heater on.

Mine blows so hot, you can't put your foot in front of it.

You get heat from the Espar and you get air conditioner from the unit that looks similar to the heat/air cond on the dash up front. Thats the 3 knob unit in the pic where the middle knob goes from bule to red.

If I remember it correctly those Espars will be plumbed into the cooling system so coolant will likely flow through the engine block and any other accessories that are plumbed in as well. If everything is stone cold it could take some time for that big chunk of cast iron under the hood to warm up.

Correct. The other knobs are for when you are idling or when you're team driving and the person sleeping in the bunk can control the temp. The heat from the Espar should come out of a separate set of vents on the front of the bunk near the floor.

    tscottme Thanks this.

Most espars in trucks do not heat the tanks or engine, they are air heaters.

Northern trucks heat the coolant and maybe the Davco at least. I can attest to their effectiveness as I was up at Zion Illinois during the -26F event and didn't idle. Truck started just fine in the morning and I didn't freeze. That was the trip when I found out that the LT thermometer doesn't go below -16°.

While we are on the side next of cold...what do I have to do in the winter to actually keep my truck...not frozen?
