It Begins

And that wasnt even the funniest one. I have to watch my posts lest I be accused of being a racist. We were actually given homework, I havent had homework in Gawd know how many years. Cant wait to see who forgot and the reasons they give for it..

 

Day 2 of the MANDATORY class.

5 people strolled in late. But at least 90% had done their homework so the Morning flew by. Lost one more male applicant today, he went home for lunch at Noon to take a nap and didnt return until about 2 pm. He will have to start over. The large female from yesterday fell asleep about a dozen times, and one time as she was trying to apply lip gloss, it wound up on the top of her massive left breast. However when it was break time she was wide awake and waddled outside to consume her snack, 6 bags of Fritos and a large Orange. " Dat women be borin me to death,thass why I be falling asleep.", she told us.

There was a read out loud exercise. It took one of the young ladies about 2 minutes to stand up as if her mind and body were in conflict.When she finally stood she glared around the room at us with large bug eyes and when she finally spoke it was through her nose and her voice had a hint of craziness to it. This was confirmed when she later stated it was ok to lie on your resume, and when she caught the room looking in her direction she responded with a "You all be looking so crazy at me, like you want to rake me over the coals."

The trucking industry is safe as no one except myself has any desire to get their Class A. Well tomorrow I will meet with the man who will help me with the paperwork and move closer to attending school..

 

Day 3.

Finished the course. 2 people failed to show up. I had my one on one interview with the Employment Specialist.He knew the school I wished to attend and the recuiter. He seemed impressed that I had all the endorsments except the Class A. His final words to me were, "I believe we can do something for you". Then I was scheduled for another test. So I am one step closer.

 

Thanks. When attempting to get money from the County there are numerous hoops to jump through. The test is to see if I can learn, and this despite the fact that I told him I got my Hazmat and Tanker endorsments on my own. It took a few weeks studying on line on my own before heading to the BMV. "Ya still gotta take the test.", was his comment.

 

No updates as of yet. 90% of the paperwork has been completed and I am scheduled to take a test next week. They have to see if I can read and write, this is a mandatory part if ya want the money for school. Like I said in the beginning, lots of hoops to jump through.
