    Shortage of parking was here before elds were even a "thing". Besides, you're painting a scenario where every driver started the day at the same time and had to shut down at the same time. Highly illogical.

    The only long term rate increases this will cause is pay for parking rates. If product stops moving or rates spike sky high it only means more trucks on the road to meet the demand and if anything eventually will depress the rates. Business as usual. Just tougher parking and likely less safe roads.

    Neither have i, but it's just like anything else. If there is a demand for parking it won't be free.

    They will let them come in legally from all over the world if they need too. Same thing that always happens when we are in need of cheap labor.

    I don't see Eld's creating a driver shortage because I don't think guys on paper are the outlaws some make them out to be. Just a little more flexible maybe. Lol. Corporate tax reform could cause it though. At least that would be due to growth instead of stifling productivity.

    Really the only time I was ever bending my logs past the breaking point was trying to get home.

    I could get from Chicago all the way to Harrisburg legally but from Harrisburg to the house was another 40 some odd minutes.

    Also I used to have to go to the company yard which was 20 minutes past the house. Now that we've relocated (the business) my boss sees no problem with me finding a "reasonably secure" area near my house (same deal all the OTR drivers have) instead of driving all the way to the office just to hand in a sheet of paper.
