I can't even imagine what the ladies have to endure.It gets pretty creepy just listening
to some of these drivers talk to other males.I've listened to them slobber all over the
mic talking about women,so I get the idea they must really be skilled in person.
The ladies out here are someones daughter,or a guys wife,or mother to children at home.
No reason you shouldn't be allowed to drive w/o being harassed.
I see pretty gals,Im not blind,but that's it.Its not a grocery store,its still a work place.

 

I hope you find a good job, i guess you are driving local or want to stay local ? Yes i have seen some pretty whiny men myself -- "Their truck" --i guess you mean everyone was slip seating but put a invisible 'Name tag" on their truck.
I was going to ask the mods --but looks like you have been on this forum a long time and can maybe answer --is there a thread that is just about "Trainer horror stories" ?
I know the stories aren't funny much like the one from the O/P --but in time, looking back they sure will have some entertainment value.

There have been threads on bad trainers and you are right some of the stories are horrifically funny...
It isn't always funny when you are going through it.. but all looks funnier looking back...

pattyj I do hope you find something... and it all has to be more difficult when your local.. at least for me... I am OTR... so I get to leave the idiots and roll down the highway..

 

I had to have a trainer when I started driving. A 400 pound man who could tell a story (none believable) and not shower. A 42 year old man who looked 60, stank and who drive for 21 years, player professional football for 4 years for the Chicago Bears, a college graduate with a few Masters, and when his mouth was open looked like a Jack O Latern. Yup. This was back in 2001 and he sounded like he was on death's doorstep then, I couldn't imagine he made it to 45. Wasn't a good driver or trainer, the only thing he taught me was how nor to be truck driver. Oh yeah. He was "God's gift to women" as well. Lol

 

If it weren't for my dad I would go back otr had offers but that's not what im looking for.

 

Might I add one of the only people that offended me. Nobody offends me. He made it happen. Usually I'm the one to do that. "Hey, there is a Klan meeting when we get back. You want to come?" And "don't knock my daughter up. I'll take you to my house, don't care what you do with her, just don't knock her up." Uh, wow. You're dumb on so many levels, Doug. "Nah, I just know what it's like to be out here. She is cute, nice little body on her". Tap. Tap. Tap.

 

From a ladies point of view local work isn't what its cracked up to be not at kb anyway.Rather be with a local company either fewer drivers or a couple women drivers.I did apply to an asphalt company while back.They since then laid drivers off cause of winter.After thinking back,im glad they didn't hire me,I would have been the only female driver there and awhole lot more drivers then kb.What the heck is wrong with you ladies,help me out and work local,lol.

 

Hold that story Joseph1135 -Jack o lantern LOL, i am going to start a new thread --there must be some roll on the floor tales to be told that weren't funny at the time! I cant find any threads on "Trainers" that dont seem to be one individuals tale.

 

Luckily, I have had great luck being the only woman driver - made me stronger, more respected, and opened the company up to pursuing more women drivers. It is difficult sometimes, to adjust to working in a male-dominated profession and it's hard to believe that our world still has so much discrimination - but if we all shy away from the difficulities, we can't change those mindsets. Hang in there, do what you love, and do it well.....
