A friend of mine bought a big bubba 3 weeks ago. $43,000 that should stop any drooling in it's tracks.

I have an 05 Big Bubba 48ft with side kit and haul mostly coils. This is the 2nd one I have owned and still have both of em. So far so good as I haven't had any trouble with them... Never know though.

That's what I don't understand about them. They're sometimes priced higher than a Mac but have a lower load rating. The Big Bubba is only rated for 60k in 4' and the "Bigger Bubba" is 72k in 4'. You can get a 72k Mac for $39,900 (FET included) or an 80k Mac for a little more.

The crack wasn't at the rear axle, the first one and the one they patched was at the 2nd axle. The 3rd was at the 3rd axle (4 axle trailer) and it broke with only a 50k single coil.

The older Reitnouers are good trailers. The newer ones are the junk, they've cut too much of the strength out in the interest of being light. Local salesman ordered an 8-axle 50' Reitnouer for a customer in Michigan and he said he's scared to death it's going to be a complete POS. He said they're being over run with warranty claims.

There is only a few hundred pounds difference between a Hybrid and an all aluminum 52, but a few thousand dollars difference. Be aware, if you get no boxes, from the factory, you will not get any Turtles and chocks. They will throw in 4 Turtles and chocks, per box mounted.

Why a few thousand difference?? Regarding the cracked frames on the trailers, could basic maintenance prevent that??

Aluminum costs more than steel. Price a steel wheel versus an aluminum wheel.
