I remember being in the Philippines many years ago, and seeing them old Pumpkins and JB's around, and trying to get up some of their steep hill. What a site
It's been very quiet in the KLLM forum

Blsqueak, thanks for the reply back. I imagined it would be a lot different, sounds basically the same

Are otr drivers still getting good miles?
-
No problem. Have not been back there for many years. Spending all of my time in China. It is pretty much the same, they have their so called DOT inspections, and notice that alot of trucks are inspected as soon as they get through the toll gate and get ready to hit the highway. Trucks and buses are all required to pull over. It is such a site. The weird part about their long haul trucks, dual steers and single drive. Have not figured that out yet.

Woot, just graduated orientation and set up to meet trainer tomorrow. Very excited, I wanted to thank Roadtoad, Newbie, and the many others who have taken the time to provide some very accurate and useful info about the company. Everything they have posted has been completely accurate and hysteriacally funny (sorry but the spider spotting Road still has me laughing). I hope to meet you guys soon take care and safe trucking all.

CRUNCHY KNEES, go to crete miles are fair but atmosphere here stinks, too many cut backs for the company drivers half of what they offer on the web site here at kllm aint even offered any more.Lease drivers are a different story but that program aint for me. I dont put anyone down for trying it. But crete seems to be more stable.

But the previous poster is right. Things have gone way downhill over here for company drivers and they have completely trashed what used to be one of the best lease programs in the industry. At this point I'd put the new lease program on par with CR England's or FFE's. Huge amount of cost to the driver with minimal room for slave wage income. Our drivers now refer to it as the "fleece" program.
Company drivers just took a 4cpm paycut accompanied by a "gloom and doom" message about how dismal things are in the industry. This was followed two weeks later by a driver message where...hey...whadda ya know...freight is picking up...the sales people are making sales and bringing in contracts...things are looking up....yadda yadda yadda. No driver I talk to has been fooled...the paycut and gloom and doom was aimed at starving drivers out to motivate them to either quit or give in and lease a truck (end result being the same...starving them out). I got into the lease program before they shredded it...back when it was still a great program and my contract reflects the old terms...so I make a decent living.
I don't know anything about Crete but I know that when I first came on here under the KLLM forum I pledged to tell the absolute truth...good, bad or ugly....and I keep my promises. I refuse to lie to anyone about what I see happening around me or about the conditions they could be coming into. I'm not a recruiter (probably pretty obvious by this post huh? LOL!)
Given current conditions you will start at 32cpm regardless of any prior experience and you can expect to average around 1600-2000 miles per week. The wait time for repairs and maintenance has increased in the company shops but is still relatively reasonable.
