Nope but a lot of people seem to be ready and willing to drain the bank to avoid ELD's.

It isn't just the Elogs they're avoiding, it's the entire hot mess that newer trucks are. The same reason the late 90s early 2000s farm tractors are stupid priced. That combined with how much they think their new garbage is worth.

If the kids wants to spend 80 k let him. A ford F150 with all the stupid stuff goes for that. And you can take that to get groceries. Only thing that worries me is when you need to rebuild engine and you don’t have funds for it. I wouldn’t drive a plastic truck if I could get a new one for 70 K. Not interested, would go back to my old job before I’d be caught in one.

I stopped reading on the third page.
If he knows what he's up to, we can only wish him luck with it.
Many who are very dedicated and have a plan might actually do pretty well up there. That is how some win by having a definite plan and be sure about it.
    Time will tell.
    Don't discourage.
People who strongly believe are often more lucky.

I hope you are right for his sake. Not wishing him any bad luck or hoping he will fail but it doesn't look promising.

Doesn't really matter once you're over 1 million in my opinion. At that point it's all about what sort of shape it's actually in and what's actually been done to it.

My First reaction, I posted) was to agree with you and think you're crazy.
As I look thru my purchase and repairs on my 1999 truck with the new motor installed. I spent about as much in 5 years as your purchase price.
Why did the truck need spindles replaced. These are the steer axle spindles?

Rereading your post. It sounds like you have a plan. IF you don't need any large $$$ repairs in 3 years It's a plus for you.
If you can make it work in this market, you can make it work anytime.
    Post some pictures.
    Good luck

You know what? I admire the OP's chutzpah.
If he's got enough cash and credit, who are any of us to judge?

To the OP, go get you some of that big money! You'll be hanging with Jeff Bezos in no time! But, of things go sideways, don't come back here crying about low freight rates and the high cost of Billy Big Rigging, because I doubt you'll find much sympathy
