I have owned my post. And I stand by my statement. Immediate family. That would be yours and the wife.

    And you just owned yours.

The OP never stated what the relationship was.

I am somewhat sorry for posting what I am about to post, but it must be said.

You know that old saying, "That it is better to let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth, and remove all doubt?" To wit:

"Taylor truck line is a bad co. to work for they don't give raises and they buy up all old trucks to put you in. they put themselves be for your family if you have a emergencie at home they will route you in a diferent direction. And if you damage equipment or if somebody else dose it and you don't report they will charge you for it."

I love the part " if you damage equipment they will charge you".

Safe to assume he was fired?....

Most companies do give raises to those who deserve them. They won't usually give raises to someone who only sticks around for 3 months or damages equipment. I would say that the poster did damage his equipment and probably got fired. Now, he wants to trash the company. If you damage your assigned equipment and fail to report it to the company, then you should be held liable.

This isn't a problem if you do a pretrip. Equipment is usually in good shape as people don't want to leave broken stuff.
Better than fighting with junk, IMO.

I am sorry for your loss and I can understand the frustration, but everyone posting has a point. You are an OTR driver sometimes you can not get home and that is to be expected. If you damage equipment and not report it well to be frank your not very smart and should be held liable. If I have learned anything from my husband it is this dont get your hopes up anything can and will happen. I bashed star for the lies they told us but after reading posts to my comments I learned that I was wrong not Star. Companies are there to make money you are paid to drive end of story. It sucks you couldnt get home but deal you choose this career, plus I have a hard time believing that if it was immediate family(mother, father, spouse, and children) they wouldn't get you home. Sometimes you need to step back from the situation and wonder what did I(you) do wrong, instead of what the company did. Then be a big enough person to admit it. Dont blame the company for your mistakes and that is what it sound like to me and everyone else. As for raises they are not to be expected but earned and from your post it does not sound like you earned it. Be a man and put your big boy pants on and deal with what seems to be the result of your own actions. Once you do that you will be better off. I had to put on my big girl pants and it paid off.

that just isnt true anymore, mega carriers DO have higher pay (rates) almost all of the time. they require you to run legal though, so no 4-5 k miles per week, so the total pay MAY infact be lower. id rather have a higher rate per mile and be green lighted past 50-75% of weigh stations, personally.

i agree with the rest of your post though.
