THIS!!! I have one strategy. I walk up and ask them to move after one honk and waiting a minute. If I ever get shot then it's just my day to go. I'm not going to let this go.
Much worse to me though is not actually getting to the pumps, It's getting out of them. Much more often than someone parking at a pump is the guys who pull forward past the pump and then spend 30 minutes in the store. If the line is long at the counter that's one thing but it's usually obvious. If people are grabbing a meal, taking a dump or getting a shower then I'm going to let loose on them.
So many times I've reversed out from a pump after fueling when no one was behind me but a truck was parked forward of the pumps for better than the 15 minutes (tops) it takes me to fuel, fuel DEF and go in and pay, take a leak and get a coffee. And I rarely do all of those things at the same time.
It's Understandable Why There Is Violence At Truck Stops

Had one about a month ago pull that #### up at the petro just west of chicago. I was sitting in the parking on my 34 and watching this. They only had one working pump for whatever reason and the ####stain took a near hour long break there. And when someone came up to ask him WTF move moron. The driver pulled a hammer and threatened the guy asking him to move. He made the mistake of going inside though and the driver he threatened came up and pumped def into the guys fuel and fuel into the guys def....my dashcam had a mysterious malfunction when he did it though.
I personally carry these lovely round locks and if they are really being ######## i decide they must need help so i place them on their trailer so its as much of a PITA to remove as posible. Entirely to keep his cargo safe dontcha know. And to symbolize friendshielp each one is loveingly carved with an image of a man having mr piggy show them a good time via back door infront of a fuel island and a 1 finger salute (Yes i have that as a stincle and own a drimmel lol)
Otherwise i carry a pack of stickers a friend of mine who makes that kinda stuff for a living made me. They are great big dinner plate sized really cheap paper stickers that have a rather amazeingly sticky glue. They all say F you or its equivlent on a middle finger in 4 languages and i will slap those onto their windshield or door window. I personally am not assholeish enough to INTENTIONALLY damage someones rig. But i am not above petty revenge and watching them need to scrape the sticker off to see or imagineing how much of a PITA getting a round lock off will be is well within my personal bounds.
Wont change anything. But it sure feels betterAnother Canadian driver, Constant Learner, Kyle G. and 7 others Thank this. -
I’ve considered slapping a padlock on their trailer door .

Drivers with no consideration for others, taking ridiculous amounts of time at fuel islands are the reasons I never stop at Pilot/Flying J’s or Loves, I find a lot less of that behaviour at the smaller truck stops. Relying on a truck stop employee or manager to get these guys to respect the rules at their facilities , your kidding yourself if you think they will ever do anything, they are only interested in whatever business transactions and money they can make from the customers, regardless of the other customers they drive away, so to save myself the hassle I just go somewhere else, they won’t get my money

This is one of those “don’t even get me started“ topics. Lol I’ve ran into these scenarios so many times and they seem to be happening with more and more frequency. Getting trapped in the fuel line because someone literally just sits there. They do need to come up with some type of solution. It always happens when you’re in a rush and then a time sensitive load you get stuck in a fuel isle for an hour. I just don’t understand what type of mentality it takes in someone to know that a driver is sitting behind you waiting to get fuel and you just sit there. Or you go inside and take a shower.
It’s gotten so bad I’ve started to say stuff to drivers when I see them doing it. The other day I was fueling and the truck to my left had already been at the pump for 20 minutes. By the time I pulled up. It was two team drivers and they were just hanging out in there doing their thing. Then after like 30 minutes, the guy gets out and starts washing his lower legs and feet and that’s when I finally said something. All this time there was a truck sitting behind them waiting. And I pointed to the truck behind them and said “do you realize that drivers been waiting for you for about 35 minutes now and you guys aren’t getting fuel and you’re sitting here taking a Bath?” They don’t care, at all. There’s needs to be a solution.Another Canadian driver, 48Packard, Vampire and 5 others Thank this. -
I said it in another thread similar to this one a while back that I've given up on 97% of today's truckers. The 3% that are left, are probably members here. I've watched so many Youtube videos of BRAVE truckers confronting these disrespectful fuel island parkers. They all end the same. The 97% tells the 3% F!@# YOU!!!! They have absolutely no shame. They don't care and never will.
