Training pay is barely enough to live on in the truck. You won't be saving any money during that time.
Even when I went through it 5 years ago it was OK. $450 per week, and $500 after a certain time.
But it is very much lower these days.
I've About had a belly full!

I never get any of that kind of treatment at Swift.
No, I am not being sarcastic.
I get the monthly messages about my idle time.
Automated garbage.
But that's about it.
Even with my lazy attitude I don't get bothered by anything coming from my DM or FM, or anyone else.
Because they don't bother me. I only talk with anyone when I call, and then I am told keep up the good work.
Well, sometimes Larry seems bewildered when I call over a simple matter that I want cleared up.
And it sometimes hurts when he says, "You called me? I had higher hopes for you" - or something like that.
He is a busy guy, I understand that. If I call him 3 times in a week, it is very rare. I usually don't call more than once every 2-3 weeks.
I turn down loads that I don't like, and a better one is sent.
I idle as I need to, and I'm OK.
I leave my inverter plugged in while in the shop, and all is well.
I run as I like, period. And I am fine.
What is there to complain about?Kindle Thanks this. -
