Oscar, you are making me break my promisse to keep quiet.:yes2557::biggrin_2555::biggrin_25521:
I fully agree with your logic but that also means Lucar overpayed on the unit he is buying there.
Because he is paying full list price for it.
So i stand my ground and keep saying that it is not a good deal.
Sorry Lucar,i really don't want to offend you but the salesman saw you coming and is now smiling.

Lucar why decide this quickly to do this deal?
Why not ask the financecompagny if you are allowed to set up a deal like for instance with the Schneider unit?(or any other unit)
Why only ring up a few dealers?
There are hundreds off dealers out there.

I got mine (T660) for $41.5k last week of august.. that makes it 5 months ago. a full month after I got it problems started with it, it all started with the transmission and went from there to IVA's and regen head and then some..
after putting $10k (I had 8k in savings) in repairs on it, I found myself with the truck back at "rush truck center" for more repairs and I had run out of resources, so I couldn't cover the bill, financing company picked it up ($2k) and offered to trade the truck if I wanted. I owed on mine 32.5 plus the 2k for the repairs that brought it up to $34.5..

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

that's the usual deal when doing a trade-in , same way with a car or pickup, the price without a trade will be less than sticker price, with a trade, its usually the sticker price minus the trade in price.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

no assumption, it was stated in this thread , read it more carefully and have you not taken note of the difference in mileage in the link you posted and the truck lucar is trading? makes a difference in offering price

To me, it sounds like he's in the hole. Anytime that you are in the hole, it's going to cost more than someone with perfect credit and cash bulging from their pockets.

I think he DOES have to move as rapidly as possible, get in it and go, and start paying off whatever he has to.

I think that you are fortunate that the finance company is working with you like they are. My guess is that no matter what you do, you are going to be upside down on the deal somehow. Whether it's paying full price for the new unit, and they pay the old one off, or you get a good deal on the new one and owe on the turkey.

That's the best that you can do. I don't know who your finance company is, but they are REALLY working with you. Just get something good and get on top of it. Good luck.

His finance company has probably been in this position before, more often than not when someone is in a situation like this the bank ends up with the truck. I give Lucar a lot of credit, not only for trying to do the right thing by his bank, but also putting it on here. Now obviously if his next truck provides him with a lot of worry free miles, its a big win for him and his family also.

thank you all for the responses; like I've stated before on the thread, I hope this serves as of some education to other o/o's somehow.

I did not know any of what's meant on this thread could be done until another O/O told me how to handle the situation before I'd find myself out on the street without a truck, job and in debt.

fld has it right as well, I have to move fast as bills are piling up and finance company (HAS BEEN AWESOME) is giving me full support (and they don't want to end up with the truck back_of course)
OscartheKWi've followed you before and already respected you from other threads, thank you for your support sir.
I'll update tomorrow (monday) as to how things go.

So what if he's a little in the hole on the deal? A person has to make a decision and cut their losses. There's always a line of internet heroes who've bought used, traded up and made money on the first truck and always some who bought the same exact truck you did for much less. Who cares?

wore out, barnmonkey, Cetane+ and 5 others Thank this.

I am going out on a limb and going to say because of the price they are going to give him for his current T660 and because the FL he found at trucknation is the truck that he wants. Also I would have to guess that the reason he is paying full list price for the FL is because he is in the hole, does not have anything to put down on it, so in return he has no room for negotiating on the price.

    BAYOU Thanks this.
