It sure hasn't worked out that way, for the consumer.

There you go again... Denver? That was a week ago, Im guessing you're still sitting in the toughest place in the country to get loaded out of.

Not so much. Considering to implement the same tech used over seas would have added something like 25k to the course of an engine in 03. As was previously mentioned, the carriers here did not want to pay that costs and pressured for cheaper alternatives, so we got egr. Don't mistake what I'm saying here, I have never thought egr was a good thing but it's notoall on the engine manufacturers. Many folks deserve a good portion of the blame.

If you can run a 6-NZ and never go to California then do it. I live in AZ and don't have that option. Having a 2 year old truck that spends more time in the shop than on the road makes for a tough life.

Is the revenue you get from running CA a big enough part of your business that it makes up for the hassle and expense of having a newer truck? When I sat down and looked at white I had been doing and what I could do by changing my operation it was easy for me to keep my 2003.

I live 120 miles from California so its mandatory. I do regret buying now because CARB is not really enforcing anything yet (on out of state companies). Im really considering spending 50K on making my truck a glider with a 6-NZ. Anybody looking to buy an MX-13? I seriously can justify it when I consider downtime, shop rates, parts.... It may be an option soon enough.

I'm in the same situation as you, but I will not buy a CARB compliant truck until someone with a badge & a gun tells me I'm no longer welcome in CA with my truck.

I think that would be illegal to convert a truck to a non-emmision engine ..
