J.B Hunt Intermodel

Here is what I did from Wed 3/18 to Sun 3/22. I highlight in red the loads where I deadheaded from Chicago to the shipper. Near the bottom, what appears to have a load overlap is when I delivered and picked up at the same recvr and shpr and railyard. Hub miles for this week is 2711. I didn't keep track of pay-miles this week.

For intermodel regional they start all drivers at .43 cents a mile.

 

Norfolk Southern closes for Christmas and New Years and they shutdown very early the day before. The Harrisburg Intermodal terminal is closed those two days. I believe CSX closes as well but I'm not 100% positive about that. I know CSX does close for the 4th of July (at least the Chambersburg rail yard does) where as Norfolk Southern does not.

Yes you need Hazmat JB Hunt requires it now. You might not need to get initially hired but you will need it after you are hired.

 

They don't really enforce it, I had drivers on my board who didn't have it for over a year and they had no plans on getting it either. Besides they were too stupid to pass the test anyway

 

Is there anyone that can tell me about an intermodal position with J B Hunt out of Ayer, MA?

 

I ran out of Mechanicville, NY. You'll probably do a lot of Boston in Ayer. But that's just a guess.

 

How Many moves do local JB Hunt Intermodal drivers complete a day ?

 

Does JB Hunt pay per mile or by the hour for local intermodal?

It doesn't say.

 

By the mile. You also get drop&hook pay and live load/unload pay. Detention is paid by the hour after the first hour and a half, and breakdown is paid by the hour. At least that's what it was when I was there. There's also border crossing pay, hazmat pay, and empty move pay.
