I have posted here many times, that I am no fan of lease purchase programs, and no fan of JB.But I am glad to hear you are satisfied with JBs program, and it sounds like you are doing pretty good. Yeah 2500 miles a week seems pretty low,but I believe that an O/O or company driver should be able to make a decent living with 2500 miles.Anyway good luck, and I hope things keep working out for you.

Sounds like exteortion sp? to me. That is against the law. If I were you I would sue them for your 2k that is too much money to just walk away from.

THANK YOU KeystruckerGal for the very detailed post. You are the minority obviously but i value your opinion.I am seriously considering the jbh lease plan.I have read screamintruckers postregarding the percentage pay and all of the other negative posts BUT HAVE YET to read of one that deals w/the mileage pay, specifically the .90/mile.
I certainly appreciate your candid post regarding your personal treatment and success w/this jb program.I will continue to research here and elsewhere before i make up my mind but a very strong point is the truck speed(72-75) for a lease operator which is better than any other L/P program i can find.Being from the really OLD SCHOOL of trucking,as in no truck driver training school-grand fathered into my CDL),I could not handle NOT being able to get around the cluster wads of 65mph trucks that now dominate the highway.but anyways-
have a great year and continued success doing what others like you apparently can not.perhaps i can eventually conclude why so many negative posts are written regarding jbh and their L/P program before i make up my mind on where to go.
allniteoldcornbinder and dynosaur Thank this. -
The last time KeystruckerGal was on the forum was 11/02/08. That tells me she is either too busy to post, or something has gone terribly wrong.
-
hopefully it is NOT the latter. Perhaps she refuses to post when most everyone has been so negative while reacting to her post documenting her success. Maybe everyone just had nothing but negative to post because of their personal treatment.
This jbh lease deal has many more negatives than positives per those that have posted regarding this jb option that it does make a driver ponder.the flip side-maybe those that are successful refuse to post simply because of all those that are negative.who knows.they could all be TOO busy trucking up to post a positive one for fear of too many L/P drivers wanting in on it.dynosaur Thanks this. -
It is true that people are at least 10 times more likely to relay a bad experience than a good one unless it is an exceptionally good one, like winning the lottery, and you know that ain't happening every day!!!
-
HAHAHA reads as if you too understand that concept.MANY do not. I have concluded, and this is just MY perspective, that for every negative post/outright bad mouthing regarding a positive experience as posted by another driver, the negative post is generally a half truth.
TRANSLATION:the negative poster is withholding a bit of info that is pertinent to why it was such a negative ordeal. Not always perhaps but 75-85% of the time.
I would not mind being wrong w/that declaration but one must consider many aspects as well as the intonation of the overall post per mr/miss negative as compared to the post of mr/miss positive.
hey-that was worth about a nickle NOT two cents IMHO. -
it would seem to me that it all boils down to attitude. i have been in this industry many years, and like most have blamed all the shortcomings on the company that i was working for.
it took me a long time to relize something. it's me. instead of blameing all the misfortune that had befalling me on the employer's, i now take responsibility.
let me explain; every word out of your mouth and every chioce that is made is all yours. if in conflict with company policies and or likes, then there's a problem.
not all companies will cater to the needs of a driver. they have a buisness to run. the buisness world is a dog eat dog world. either play the game or not.
at times,(more often than not), we must commit to loads that are less than desirable. (been there done that); let me ask everyone this; has all the bad things that happened to you really someone elses fault? not a perfect world...
i am going to go to jb hunt orientation this monday and just do it. i do have an attudude that if it can be done, i can do it...
i will keep everyone updated on the progress...
they call me banana peel on the radio... -
Ive been wanting to get my own trk.Now is the time to buy if u have the $ to pay for it,but lease purchase/with freight being low, scary.JB seems to have a good plan, but i want to run west. This co. puts the west coast freight on the rail( so im told)an i know there Lp trk are governed at 68mph.They have a good plan. but how about good runs?where do u run?

I thought I saw her today going north on I-95. If she is reading this, I was the pax riding in the purple 379 that passed you by Ft. Pierce.
