Ok smart ###. We rely on to much technology. We actually do. Easier. One thing I found on our truckers map does not show everything. Not all roads. But I understand what you are saying and I agree. Just sucks.

I hear that. Will chill it out. But do not like people. Men doing the same thing to me. Or female. But only see men doing it. But gotcha.kemosabi49 Thanks this.

@Brandy Jones
It appears you have toned it down and we appreciate that, so this is a friendly heads up.
It's bad enough insulting a member of this forum, but insulting, blasting, being an overall jerk to a moderator is much worse.
With that being said, use technology to your advantage:
If you (the driver) are unfamiliar with roads you will be on, use Google Street View to get an better idea of what you are getting yourself into and if it looks difficult, see if you can find an alternate way.
Since you (the actual you) were the passenger, you could have been looking ahead at the Street View, looking for things like tight turns, low overpasses, weight restrictions, etc. Sometimes the passenger is called "the navigator" and in the past, they were just the map reader or someone to talk to while getting on down the road, but with the technology available today, the passenger can be extremely helpful in those unfamiliar situations.
Regarding GPS units, you will find none of them are perfect, not even the truck-specific ones. There are also several Truck-GPS apps available. One of them is TTR's very own Hammer GPS app. It's free and there is a section on this forum dedicated to that app.
Of course, the best way to figure out if it's a bad situation is use your own eyesight. If you have concerns about making a turn or getting under an overpass, stop before you do it and get out and look at it. If you don't think you can make it, don't try it. Then you won't be on this or any other forum talking about how you got fired for hitting something.hotrod1653, Bean Jr., jdchet and 12 others Thank this. -
When you said you spent your rainy day money at the request of the company , on what? When you are asked to pay money up front for a job this should be a red flag. I’m suspecting this is a lease purchase gone horribly wrong.
truckguy391, Just passing by, Lonesome and 5 others Thank this. -
It might also be a case where the person getting the lease just blindly signed everything put in front of them and didn't really understand the terms of the lease.
That happens a lot.
People have to realize that trucking companies don't offer lease purchases out of the goodness of their heart.Bean Jr., Just passing by, mjd4277 and 7 others Thank this. -
Thank you very much. I am the wife that rides along with him since I cannot walk well until I can get my back surgery. Never heard of those ones but really thank you for the info!! I get irritated when people assume things. I was there. We took pics and the police officer can and volunteered to verify. Odd that J-Mar decided to put $150 in our bank this morning. But still have no estimates or what was accused to be damaged except the rim. Have several agencies looking into this and I will not stop. Gonna get what's owed. We don't pay insurance for nothing and not our fault that they have so many bad right ups from DOT and are being investigated including a death. But regardless what they pulled is inhumane and unmoral. Just straight up disrespectful and low down dirty. Stealing our pay was bad enough. But we will get it back. To bad for them that they did not want to work things out and refused to give us the report. But hey. It's their shop so they will charge what they want. At least they think so right now. Shady company. We live we learn. As well as they will. Just a heads up and thank you once again. Will watch my sailers tonguebzinger Thanks this.

So you said its just a bent rim?? Then why did they have someone pull the axle off the trailer?? If you guys hit the rail hard enough that the axle needed removed so the trailer could be towed you caused several thousand dollars worth of damage and must have been taking that corner extremely fast.
Any rate good luck getting home and hopefully you find a non driving job.Bean Jr., magoo68, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this.
