Cadillac is a term that means the best! Ft. Wayne is where I started. Plenty of freight and very experienced trainers. With you living that close you should get home at least once during the week and most weekends. Get ready to work your butt off, but once you figure it out, if you make it you will like it. My class started with 8 and dwindled down to 3. It sucks at first but gets better every day after the light clicks in your head and you figure it out. When training if you want to get noticed in a good way, every time they ask someone to put that pick up on that rig make every effort to be the first to do it. Listen to Charlie, the yard man/trainer. In my opinion Charlie knows more about loading 6/7 pickups on every single type of rig that Jack Coooper has than anyone else. If he says it will fit on that truck, it will fit. The way you will impress Charlie is to watch, listen, don't run your mouth needlessly, ask questions when he stops talking and give 110%. If he sees you doing your best everyday he will see to it that you become a good carhauler.

Show them you can handle their piece of equipment. Ever drove a stinger before? They tend to have less trailer off track, but you have to allow for your overhang to the rear of your trailer tandems.crb Thanks this. -
I know this is an old thread but I’ll post here anyways. I start work at the Wayne terminal on Monday the 5th. I applied on October 6th and on Monday the 8th a recruiter called me and said everything looked good , he would forward my info too the TM in Wayne and to be expecting a call from her. The next day the Tm called me and set an appointment for interview on Friday the 12th , interview was pretty basic , she gave me the run down then offered me a job on the spot. Then that day immediately sent me down for a drug screen and a DOT physical.
The next week I get a call from an occupational therapist wanting me to come in and do a pre employment strength test, went there did that passed , pretty easy stuff , stand on one foot, walk in place , climb a ladder etc . The next day the 11th of October I get a call from Tm saying everything checked out, physicals , background , etc and orientation will be the 5th of November. I still have to do the road test which is going to be on Thursday nov 1 , not to worried about that. But I thought I’d write something in case anyone is looking to come too Cooper and wondering what the hiring process is like. I hope this answered some of those questions , so basically from the day I filled the app till my first day of work it’s right at 30 days for the whole process. Hope this helpsskinnytrucker Thanks this. -
Hope you like it, Cooper is a good company to work for. I backhauled from Wayne one or two times a week for a couple years. After you learn all the different loading yards it isn’t too bad to haul from.

Hello,
I've recently posted a thread about possibly working at jack Cooper transport he in Buffalo NY. What does the training consist of?
How is the money starting out and is the insurance cheap? I was paying $196 a week just for health insurance when I worked at pepsi.
I'm like 5'10 330. But I'm not fat I'm just a large guy. Lots of football and wrestling and powerlifting. Will that disqualify me?.
Like I said Ive always wanted to be a car hauler. And I'm extremely money hungry.
Thanks.
