Thanks for the advice. I can and will follow directions. I, too, hope this is my last job. I have already committed myself to one year, pretty sure I can find my groove by then. If not, I think I'll hang up my CDL for good...don't think I'll find a better opportunity than Cooper. I'm very driven and intelligent, so I don't think I'll have too hard a time picking up on things.
From what I understand, it's first in, first out. You get to choose from what's available at the time you are ready to load. So, kinda. I could be wrong, so if any veterans want to chime in & set me straight... I welcome the corrections.

I just want to thank you Banker for being so willing to aid those of us dealing with the fear of change. It is not so much the challenge that stands before us it is the fear of change. No matter how great working for Cooper will be, for me --- an opportunity to nearly double my income --- it is the fear of change. Doubt plays a part but it does not weigh on the psyche like the fear of change.
Having studied trucker reports before making a move on any companies I have looked at for nearly two years now, you my Brother have been the most direct, real, and informative person I have observed. Just glad to have run across you because you have helped me immensely. Slant6 big ups to you too... Thanks for your straight to the point cut and dry perspective. I am all the way in and will keep you all posted as I go. Good Stuff!Banker Thanks this. -
Well said! Although I have not been active in this thread, I have still taken a great deal of information from it. I too would like to thank you Baker & Slant6 for your input and wise words. Indeed, the fear of change is/was my biggest roadblock and this thread, in particular, has helped me to make the leap.Banker Thanks this. -
*Banker... I tried to edit, but for some reason I couldn't...sorry, I've had a few adult beverages in celebration

Congrats.
Carhaul gets in your blood. As has been said prior, there is a learning curve. At first, you may think "This Sucks". Then one day, it will all "click". You will work your rear end off. And don't fall prey to the faction that only still has their job because of the Union. Every terminal has them. They hang together and feed off each other about how the company is screwing them. They are usually the ones that "play the board". In time you will understand what I mean.
Best of luck. This is a great opportunity. -
Slant6
I am used to those kind of people and I stay as far away from them as I can. Some people are never happy no matter what. Just as I have bonded with you, Banker and others on this thread, I will seek out the same types of individuals at Cooper and pursue my dreams and goals. In this day and age, to be in a position to work for someone else and have the potential to earn a six figure income, I am not going to let it get away nor will I allow pessimists to pull me into their negativity.Unk Thanks this. -

AtatKen,
Go ahead and kick your heals up.You have been able to climb a new mountain main and stand victoriously. I will see you at the top. We both came to this party at the same time. All we have to do now is win...

AtatKen,
Not sure yet. It will be one of the two. -
