You like to be told exactly how your device should look and feel instead of the freedom to do what you want to with it. That's why you choose iOS.

    ttyson Thanks this.

Not what I was saying... I am fine with how it's structured, not being told anything... Nice twist there... I like the overall security of iOS compared to other options available to me, I like the build quality over all of any Apple product I have ever purchased, I like when I get a new iPhone/iPad it's the newest model for the next year and not replaced with something else in a few months, I like how when an update rolls out I can get the newest and best within minutes and not need to wait on hardware manufactures and carriers to piss around until they get to my make and model to get an update, I like that my now four year old phone is running the newest OS release, I like that my now FOUR YEAR OLD phone is still awesome, I like that my I devices play well with my other hardware, I like the privacy and protection iOS provides, I like the customer service I get from Apple, I like... Well... I guess I will stop there... For now...

No one is "making" or "telling" me anything... I opt to buy into Apple's approach to their environment and will gladly continue to support said environment with my future purchases...

    Fairly Simple Actually... :)

and, if I wanted to, I could jailbreak (root) my iDevices and modify the look and feel all I want... But I opt not to do so for the very reason that started this thread... You open yourself up to God knows what security issues... Not worth it and, as said above, I am perfectly happy with it as is... Is it perfect? No, but the risk to reward just isn't there for me personally.... YMMV

Samgsungs next gen of phones will be much more like the iphones...sealed backs,no SD card slots, no more "breaking it open" to take out the battery to cool it offf..

But... But... But... I thought replaceable batteries, SD Card slots, and removable backs were all advantages of Samsung over Apple... Seems so odd to give up ones advantages over the competition... ;-)

Just having fun... Glad there are options in the market place for any and all customers... We all benefit from strong competition.

I've been using smart phones longer than most folks and I really like the iOS. I've had Moto Q's, Palms running Palm and Windows like the Q, Blackberry, Moto Xoom and Tab2 tablets, i4s,i5s and soon to be i6s. My Tab2 will be replaced by a Surface 3 with LTE later this year. I don't run Linux, I don't open my phones up to dubious software by rooting or jail breaking, it's not a toy, etc. I don't have the time or desire to mess with it, I just want it to work and work well. The novelty of phones wore off on me back in the Startac days. That's about when I realized it was a tool and a leash at the same time. For me, who uses his phone for business and is out of business without it, the Genius Bar is truly priceless. Android says what? I got a problem, I go to the mall and its solved. Oh yeah, VZW is giving me $300 for my 5s and $200 for the two 5's that are three years old. The Honda of phones.

i'm trying to find a good deal on a sprint phone that's capable of the new spark signal.

i'm impressed with the coverage of my old note 2. compared to yesteryear's coverage. sprint has improved. and i'm hoping the spark is even better coverage. now that sprint is allowed to use rural towers.

While you are probably more than welcome to post such an inquiry here, this thread was originally about jail broken iPhones... Not many will probably see you request... You may want to consider a stand alone thread in order to hopefully reach more eyeballs... Just a thought.
