Like I said I own 1 of each and yes the jake on the ISX is stronger no doubt about it it also gets better miliage. I would much rather drive the cat. Its pulling more than retarding and it does a better job of that! The cat is also better if your going to tinker with it. But if you want to slow down boat anchors are good for that:biggrin_25525:

The only reason for those opinions where ISX doesn't pull strong enough is that there are 3 ISX "Families": 1,2 and 3, but all of them are called just that "ISX". Families 1 and 2 are POS built for big fleets and the only way to go is Family 3, but like I said, there is little or no understanding to that simple fact because people are getting dumb these days. Also, ISX is exactly the reason why CAT is dead. They figured couldn't compete and committed suicide by drinking own yellow urine lol

CAT isn't dead...It's been repackaged from yellow to gray...Have you paid any attention to the industry news?....You can still get a CAT in a Cornbinder if you so desire, a "Gray Kitty" is offered....
CAT basically told the EPA to go pound sand....making an engine CARB/EPA compliant costs money....The engine manufacturers can pass only so much to the potential buyers.....

Now I have heard about IH having CAT join them and assist them in producing there OTR motors.

My question is simply this, will the "C-15" or whatever they are going to call it is it going to go back and be a single turbo are will they keep the coumpound setup? I heard it is suppose to be pretty much a C-15 with minor changes like the color and the VC saying IH not but nothing about the turbo setup.

So if you like the strong bottom end of a CAT thats the same thing IH is going to be using now.

Yeah, same ol BS about how "CAT told EPA blah blah". They didn't say nothing, because they have had screwed on-highway platform so much, they were speechless. But there is so many CAT-believers (for a reason - good ole days!), this stupid EPA-boycott story is circulating. Every engine maker is complying with emissions levels this way or another since 8 years already, CAT is the only one that can't. Accert was just horrible mistake they couldn't recover from.

Don't tell me this "repainted" storied either, there is only block from the CAT in that engine, which is going to be another clusterfxck anyway.

I know its hard for some to understand that times change, but come on guys. Its been at least 5-7 years since they went south

Nah, by no means its Ford vs. Chevy kind a fight. We are talking highly developed (over 12 years PRODUCTION) engine that is rocking the Class 8 market with 44% or so share vs. engine that has 0% share and is not even in the production anymore. In other words, I'm just having fun here pointing you that out but you "were driving company rigs with Kitties".

So... that is it. You know it all, CAT is "better choice" for sure :biggrin_2559:

(because less trucks means better rates hahaha)
