Yes.....they will tell you and show you videos in the first week. At the end of the week you and a few fellow students will get in a truck and do the " Millis 500" circling the lot practicing down shifting and up-shifting. Its not really hard once you do it a week or so. I been shifting for 2 weeks now and I grind a gear on occasion but I can skip shift and skip downshift and do all that kind of stuff and so will everyone once they get some seat time in and practice !

But double clutching is pretty easy just tap the clutch just a tad to pull it in neutral then tap it again to put it in gear

To down shift do the same thing but on the 2nd tap you must rev the throttle to aprox 1500 RPM before you can tap and put it in the gear your looking for. your foot has to be off the clutch completely before you rev or it wont work at all. Hope this helps.....take care

    Week 3 updates

Monday and Tuesday went driving mainly local around the Cartersville GA area each student got to drive around 50 miles each. We took 2 trucks so everyone had plenty of time. We took 2 lane back roads to Highways to Interstate's and plenty of curves !!!!

Wednesday we took a night drive. 4 students went with a driver trainer up north to Wisconsin and Ohio but me and 3 others stayed here in GA and done the night drive. The 4 students who went up north left on Tuesday and came back Friday.

Thursday was a pretty easy day just worked on backing some.

Friday ( today ) was graduation. Everyone passed some still need a little more help on fine tuning their skills. Monday-Wednesday we have orientation here in Cartersville and some are leaving right away with trainers and a few others are waiting a week or less. Mine will be a week and a half later before I get to go out. I asked for a week but my trainer will be on home time and wont be able to come down to GA until the later part of the first week in Feb. Also the students helped clean 2 of the training trucks but one was in the shop getting repairs so we didnt clean that one.

Im going this weekend or sometime next week to get my verizion wireless air card so I will be able to update things out on the road. Looking forward to getting things going and cant wait till I get into my own truck !!

    Week 4 update

Monday-Wednesday we went over orientation stuff. Pay Roll, insurance, etc and received our 5 shirts and hat and other goodies. I went with per diem pay which Millis gives tons of incentives like extra vacations and more bonus and alot of other things that leaned me toward per diem, and I think everyone else chose it. At 6 months we get 1 week vacation and at 1 year mark we get 2 weeks !!! Everyone passed their drug tests and everyone is set up with their trainer. Im not 100% sure when I will get with my trainer should be a week maybe more from now. Looking forward to getting started !!!!
