Sitting for 48hrs no pay, seems worth it when ya can get a 34hr restart, and drive for 5 days and get 2500-3grand miles in these days and times...okok...lets say 2000-2200 then. Youd get piece of mind (in 48hrs), a shower, maybe run across the 4lane highway to catch a movie(get excersize too), hit wallyworld and replenish supplies at a NORMAL cost.

The Wi. intermodel board has acessory pay the other boards don,t have, example drop-hook 20-every load, live load-unload 30.00,after 1 hour detension 14.50,etc. Say you start south of Milwaukee, run into Chicago d-h, get another load going to Marinette, unload 30.00, a driver needs a ride to Green Bay, because his truck is in the Chicago shop-slow shop, you get 25.00 for giving him a ride. It takes 2 hours at the dock unloading 44.50 pay. The next load is a d-h in Green Bay 20.00, going to Chicago rail yard. That,s 109.50 in accessary pay, cpm is .35 for 5 plus years experience on the Wi. board, 109.50 plus 475 miles at .35 166.25 = 275.75 That,s a little high for an average day,but you can drive more than 475 on some days to. It,s fast paised, my last job was otr reefer 13 stop loads, so I know what a fast pase is. If you live in Wisconsin send me a pm, I,LL try and check the great site here once a week. Stay safe everyone.

I don't know. No matter how you put it JB Hunt...SUX. They post on the job board here in Texas but the job posting always leads to a deadend link. LOL

Just to start typing this post angers me but I will continue. I started with J.B. about a year and a half ago at that time had nothing on my driving record spotless. I drove their local intermodal division from WI to Chicago. A Grey hound bus called in on me saying that I cut them off when I first got hired there. I explained to J.B. I was merging on to the express way and had plenty of room to merge when the Grey hound bus speed up trying to prevent me from merging. They didn't want to hear it I was wrong and had to do driving modules.

Now keep in mind I'm driving in the downtown Chicago area where cars are currently cutting you off jumping in front of you slowing down and all that ####. This company monitors every little thing you do. If you have a hard braking event they put it on your record. If you have more than three in a month they are ready to fire you.

In the month of Sept. of this year I was involved in a minor sideswipe. I was moving over to my left lane due to a emergency vehicle on the right shoulder of the road. When I passed the emergency vehicle I put my signal on to move back into the right lane, checked my mirrors nothing. While merging over I made contact with a vehicle.

The police officer told me that it was no way possible I could have seen the driver becasue he was in my legal blind spot but had to write me a ticket for making contact with the car. J.B. Hunt said they would give me a 3 day susepension with 6 mos. probation I said cool no problem hey I made contact with the vehicle I will man up to what I did. Signed the the write up got a copy of it served my 3 days.

When I came back after serving my 3 days they said that they didn't need me anymore and said that I had a track record of being unsafe.I argued that I have in writing where they said I would be suspended they said they had a right to change there mind. This is a company that lacks integrity and wants its drivers to be saints! What happen to me could happen to anyone. Before this job I drove all 48 states no accidents or citations but I get with J.B. and am considered an unsafe driver.

This sector begs for professional representation. 'Employee Relations' companies earn loads of money from Hunt, Swift, etc. by putting their employees on the line with client company employees to manipulate and intimidate. The Hunt (Swift, Schneider, etc.) driver who 'hates unions', loves the pathetic status quo and is a 'house bully' may very well be an employee of one of the growing number of 'employee relations' companies.:biggrin_2556:

Nice to see things haven't changed much at the former employer.

Caught up with a friend of mine who was with the Hunt racket (we sat next to each other in the office) he said they went through a ton of layoffs when Johnelle (JB's widow) backed out of a lot of the day-to-day operations.

CEO Thompson will probably make off like the bandit, but leave the company a tattered shambles. I don't like him, never liked him. The company's run by a bunch of MBAs, not a bunch of Truck Drivers, as it was, and as it should be.

Many companies that are still surviving are ran by MBAs, if they were run by drivers- they'd be broke by now !!!!!
