jtr: You never saw the company as it was when JB was running the show. You never got the opportunity to see the man at work everyday when you came in, or when Drivers would come in for awards and such. The man was always thinking of ways to maximize profit while still taking care of the employees somewhat.

Now it's all about the almighty dollar. That's why Intermodal swelled to about 50% over the last 2 years since JB died and Johnelle backed out of her day to day spot

It always seems that when the "Founding Father" backs out, the company hits the skids. I have only ever seen one company where the original owner was no longer involved, and the company and it's drivers are thriving... and let me tell you, that 24 year old GIRL is doing a #### good job!:biggrin_25514:

I know this post is old But maybe you should get the media involved. Call your local news or radio station. Get your local politician involved. I mean there are other ways to go. These are the only ones off the top of my head. Post bills around town maybe people can help with donations. Write your national elected leaders in washington. Believe me theres someone who will listen.

As for getting away with this kind of abuse. Yeah, unless you have proof on tape, paper, eyewitness statements, etc. The courts might rule all this as circumstantial evidence. The lawyer should not have taken your money. He gave you hope then took it away? What a crock!

When my husband turned his truck into today to the JB Hunt Atlanta yard, there was a man there who had done 4 days of orientation, only to be sent home because they had no position for him. They filled all the positions. He was there to get a day cab job. My husband and I should have known there was something wrong with this company when after his orientation he and the guys he was in orientation with all stayed at the hotel for a week more waiting on trucks.. I am sorry but why bring people in for orientation if you don't have the equipment there to put them in? They were sitting there waiting on trucks apparently that others were turning in after quitting is all i c an come up with now after what we have been through.

Sounds like a "bait and switch" ... let me guess - did they offer this driver lease purchase?

Try contacting the Labor Dept and report the Cobra info...they might need check stubs showing where it was paid, and a letter showing it was cancelled...

The Labor Department's interpretative and regulatory responsibility is limited to the disclosure and notification requirements. If you need further information on your election or notification rights with a private sector plan, write to the nearest office of the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration (See Field Directory at end of document) or:

U.S. Department of Labor Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration Division of Technical Assistance and Inquiries 200 Constitution Ave., N.W. (Room N-5619) Washington, D.C. 20210

Are you kidding? Don't let the recruiter tell you that you're the only one for a day cab job.

When JBHT actually HAS a day cab spot open up (rare as it is), it's usually 1 or 2 spots, and the recruiting doesn't stop until they have 2-3 committants on board. Out of that, if all of them come in, finish orientation, and whatnot, then the terminal makes a decision on who to hire and who to send packing.

i felt bad for this guy, he and his wife were upset to say the least. He spent 4 days there (wasted time that could have been spent for another job)

With a daycab you don't get the sleeper option (line 2) time. =better to have the sleeper if your deliveries are not that tight and you are going past DOT (scales, inspections) all the time. With all the winter weather I would definately want the sleeper option.

JB = doesn't say much for a company when they ask you to just show up and if someone quits that day you can have their job. =that's high turnover to a T. If drivers are dropping like that and just don't care your DOT inspections will be very interesting. =Most drivers will not risk their driving record driving for a company like that =Not worth the risk. No wonder why JB, CRE advertise jobs so much.
