If you have all of the above WTF do you want to go to JB for? Did you not read where O/O's get dispatched AFTER company and L/P drivers? I guess you do not have a trailer and need to rent one from a bottom feeder!

Sorry but IMHO I'd find a good trailer and go from there or find a smaller company that actually cares about the drivers! STAY AWAY from these mega carriers!

I was employed by jb hunt from aug 01 to jan 07 in two of the dcs accounts. When i was hospitalized in jan 07 for 11 days, upon my full release to drive i was terminated. 5 and a half years of on time perfect safety record and that was my reward. Live and learn.

I was on closed loop from Ohio to Laredo Texas.been with the company for just shy of 90 days, due to the equipment they supplied me to drive .i have had alot of down time with truck in FYDA Freightliner and each time i told breakdown " truck is showing low voltage and the starter is grinding"
evidently they chose not to do anything about it ,i picked up the truck from cincinnati oh fyda freightliner on dec 15th drove truck on my loop and back home on dec 22, i started the truck everyday for 10 minutes but didnt on the 26th ..keep in mind the unit is in my driveway...went to start it up on 27th for dispatch and the batteries were dead but the bunk heater works...hmm ..electrical short..i imediatly told weekend fleet manager i refuse to drive truck its not safe to drive..well folks ..after 2 days of talking to fleet management ..the 3rd day my opps manager called my phone and threatend to file theft charges and abandement charges on DAC.because i would not drive truck back to columbus ohio terminal..I think if there is enough drivers with nerve i am sure we could file a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT...lets pull together and take care of our rights.!!! nobody will take care of you but YOU !!!

I am a JB Hunt driver, ten years. I will agree that the place has gone down hill in the last year, big time. If you aren't on a dedicated account, you are pretty much a nobody. The OTR fleet has been pretty much eliminated, they forced everyone on these "closed loop" runs, and cut their pay dramatically in exchange for more home time you won't be able to afford to take after running for 28 cents a mile. The DCS (dedicated) accounts it's pretty much business as usual. After my pay got cut from 45 cents a mile to 32 cents after getting pushed to a "closed loop" run from Columbus to Laredo. I put closed loop in quotes because somehow I still ended up in New Jersey 75% of the time. It took about a month of making phone calls for me to find a dedicated account to get on. Now I'm back up to 41 cents and I'm no longer dispatched out of Lowell. The fleet managers in Lowell are pretty much children, there are very few people in that office building over the age of 24. They don't know a thing about trucking, and very few of them have a lick of common sense. Your problem is you shouldn't have dealt with that person with this issue, other than saying the "truck doesn't run, I'm calling road service." Road service is who you need to call. tell them what you wrote here, and they'll send either a tow truck out to pick it up, or a driver dumb and desperate enough to drive it back to Columbus.

As for anyone thinking about driving for JB, all I can say is if you can get on a dedicated run, or intermodal, it's a pretty good job. If you get to orientation and they tell you that the dedicated account the recruiter promised you is suddenly filled, grab your gear, and RUN. OTR isn't the place to be anymore. It's probably about the worst place you can be right now. When I was on that closed loop deal, my son-in-law that lives in my basement consistently had bigger paychecks than me waiting on tables at the local Big Boy. For 3000 miles, my paychecks barely broke $500. You can imagine what the normal 2000 mile week looked like. There are more than enough unemployed drivers right now, waiting to fill your seat, and they know it.

Sad, you need to call 1-800-723-3133 and tell them the truck doesn't run, you can't drive it, and they need to come get it.

FIRST thing out of your mouth should have been "Get a wrecker here ASAP and start YOUR POS truck! Then make an appointment for you to get to a shop or every time you stop the truck you'll have to get another jump which will cost you how much?

Then follow the directions in this post after the quote box on what to do when you quit: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...s-advice/94252-what-do-when-you-get-your.html But CYA as much as you can! This bottom feeder will attempt to report any kind of "bd" termination report they can so foll it as closely as you can!

    Good Luck

I've heard so many drivers talking about suits against them,, but nothin' ever comes of it.

Even the CRE suit needed the backing of ooida, and only covered a narrow aspect of the lease contract.

This is because you need to have one driver that can actually build a case, keep flawless records, have absolutely nothing that can come back and bit them in the court room .... logs, tickets, nasty quallcom messages, threats, etc.

Even then most attorneys will not take the case unless they can build a class action - and find several drivers of the proper character and profile, and also with stacks of evidence.

A real lawsuit takes a lot of time, money, and energy.
