On this point, if they do have them give you an itemised list on what needs done or has been done then you can dispute anything that turns up with the records you have.

I will be happy to keep you all informed as to the final outcome of this situation. I hope you don't mind Turbo but I told the Mahaffey of JB Hunt of this forum and the reputation that JB Hunt has here. I hope he does visit. The foreman of the maintenace garage signed off on the truck as it being in good condition. Hubby had the truck serviced on 3/21 and I informed Mahaffey that since miles have been non exsistant this servicing will serve as compliance with the lease agreement as directed by our attorney. They know or should know that if they try to pull any funny stuff a law suit is only a filing with the court away and it will be for a hell of a lot more than just what was taking from hubby for escrow. Thank you for all of your advice. I hope people will think twice before signing into a lease agreement with this company.

I don't have any problem with that whatsoever. I've been threatened a couple of times by people claiming to represent that company, for my particular stances that I have taken, so another will be of no consequence.

Both times, they were referred to my Attorney, and neither of them has contacted him, at last check anyway.

I'm pleased to know that my advice was helpful, and that you are a person willing to cover that hiney to head off the grief that so many other people have experienced.

To anyone else reading this, always keep in mind that a disposable camera, witnesses if necessary, and a signed inspection of all equipment that is turned in to a company, will become your best friend in short order, if a company makes charges against you on a DAC entry or attempts to withold pay or escrow funds, for equipment damage.

Every thing that Jason said about JB is true. I'm going through exactly the same thing right now, almost word for word. I was out of work at the time I applied to them and needed work badly! I registered with the Illinois on line skills match and found a listing by JB hunt. "Looking for drivers in the Rockford, Illinois area. Home every weekend. Work out of our Rockford terminal". Called the number and the recruiter confirmed the add.

I did apply and went to their 3 day orientation. Here is where it starts:
Upon registration they told me, I repeat, TOLD ME, I was going into intermodal not dedicated. Those jobs were filled. I asked about the Rockford terminal.. No such animal. Used to be but closed years ago. Told them I knew nothing about intermodal and wanted dedicated. answer was. "Cant change for 30 days".

Okay, I was lied to from the start but I needed work so I went for it.
After orientation they sent me out with a trainer for 3 days to learn the in's and outs of the railyards. I got straight pay while he got my miles. This guy expected me to drive both his and my miles. Figured that out the first day with him. Now I can handle 10 and 11 hour runs with no problems as a rule, but suddenly around the 8th hour I got extremly tired. Pissed the guy off cause now he had to drive. That was 3 days of that. What did I learn about railyards in that time? not a whole lot. Only ran back and forth between two for 3 days.

Miles? Oh yeah the miles were there.. if you could get to them after spending 4 to 8 hours a day in the railyards chasing down good chasis, and doing trailerflips.

Long story made shorter.. yes I spent 3 weeks there and made a little money before I quit, now being called 3 to 4 times a week from JB with job offers, found another GOOD company and I'm now with them.

Folks.. do yourselves a favor and look other places than JB Hunt for work.

By the way the rule of thumb with JB Hunt is you sit more than you do getting miles.........I averaged the miles my hubby got and it was around 1900 miles per week. That's as a driver in the lease purchase program so you can imagine the pay he got. Anyway we are awaiting our escrow monies to be returned. Mahaffey if you are reading this just a heads up I contacted the OOIDA and now I have them plus our attorney waiting to see if you try anything with our monies. The smart thing for JB Hunt to do is to return all our monies and go our separate but very happy ways.

Well I can't believe it but it's only been 15 days since my husband returned the truck back to JB Hunt and terminated the lease agreement (still waiting for the escrow monies to be returned) and guess who called trying to recuite him? Yeppers, JB Hunt! What idiots! The only thing i regret is I didn't get to talk to the recuiter hubby did. Hubby is nicer than I am. LOL I would have given them a earful to say the least.

Let's see now.. I left them almost a month ago and just about 3 calls a week. Gotta give them a little credit. Persistant idiots.

Cant you block there number or just not answer the phone when there name pops up on the caller Id. Ive start just ignoring calls with 1800 numbers or unknown name and number. If its important the answering machine will tell me~
