No it doesn't, because JB Hunt is actively purchasing contact lists from industry sources, among other despicable practices, as a means of desperately attempting to recruit people. Hey...most people know about the court case, where it was found that JB Hunt recruiters were cold calling the driver facilities in at least one other large company (CRST), and trying to woo drivers. It's utterly pathetic.
The only reason I have not made any formal complaint against JB Hunt with the FTC, is due to the fact that every time you place a call to my phone, it's costing you money to only be greeted by my fax machine. I filter each and every phone call that comes to my home. I never hear a thing, if I don't wish to be bothered. The only calls I ever am bothered with are from those numbers that I choose to allow through.
So call away to my home...it's JBH's wasted dime.
That's a crock of crap. Your main source of FREE leads comes from those sites on the web that in some cases, JB HUNT set up themself as a complete sham, where drivers think they are submitting their contact info, and in some cases a brief resume, that is supposedly sent to many companies, but rather wind up in your department's databases.
As with any other telemarketer, the only thing that does is confirm to them, that your number is valid, and given JB Hunt's current state of reputation, they probably document that fact, and sell the number to others.
There are better alternatives and by exploring them, it still costs JB Hunt money every time they place the call, but you are not bothered by it. One free option, if one has a working modem in their computer, is very effective program that will allow you with a click, stop unwanted calls forever.
Free Caller ID Software, Call Recording Software, Auto Shutdown Timer Software
It's easy to set up, and with a click, you can move any unwanted number to the ban list, and you're finished.
That's the biggest whopper you have told yet....
Yes...Corporate America is always calling Joe Blow JB Hunt Recruiter Extraordionaire, and trying to pry you away from that wonderful job you have.
I've heard it all now....and I cannot quit...![]()

How old are you? You truly sound like a college graduate, full of piss and vinegar, but you haven't had a taste of the real world yet.
Does anyone remember the poor kid that came in here and tried to market the Pre-Paid legal plans? Does anyone see any similarities in the way he argued his points and what we ultimately found out about the guy? We're dealing with a similar type of person here...
However, since you have offered it as is worded above, there are at least five major companies out there, that might rise up and offer that you are full of crap. Those companies might include USF, Roadway, Yellow (all under one parent company now), and I'm sure that there are plenty of others that could offer up many drivers that have stayed with them for years upon years, and through merger upon merger.
Why do I work for JB Hunt? As a recruiter, they are constantly in need of drivers, and their turnover is so high, that I can make so much more here, as long as I can keep the phones ringing. They pay me alot of money, because I am an effective liar, and will tell a driver anything he wants to hear. They offer a 401k package, which most companies these days do, and unless they truly go belly up, I expect to retire a wealthy and satisfied piece of pond scum, but then someone has to do it, don't they? Why not me? Is that a good enough reason for you? -
I believe every last word of this. Now the truth comes out. They bribe those in orientation with free meals in order to get contacts?
This explains why some people are being contacted by cell phone. -

I guess I COULD be a J.B. recruiter.
First, I'd HAVE to be a young graduate from a college somewhere. Preferably a grad from one of the ultra right-wing or ultra left-wing universities. Young people are always easy to fool into thinking and behaving certain ways, especially if they're those extremely conservative or extremely liberal pukes.
Second, I'd have to start swallowing certain propaganda corporate America would be spoon feeding me to make sure I was always at odds with those below me on the food chain and not at odds with my masters.
Yeah, if I adopted the mindset that I am better than a mere truck driver, I'd be able to do the recruiting thing. Thanks to the propaganda I'd been fed while being indoctrinated, I would look at truck drivers as being nothing more than monkeys deserving not much beyond a curious interest. I would come to this website for entertainment and view its posters as nothing but exhibits of lower life forms in a zoo.
When the time comes to recruit, recruit, recruit, I would of course lie, lie, lie. I could do that, sure, if I view drivers as monkeys.
Such is the American way. -
Hey Tip,
Maybe you should apply to be a JBH recruiter, that way you could spread the word even more of how bad a company JBH really is. -
LOL....ive never seen a recruiter on this board or any other board bad mouth a driver...or say they are better than them. But I see drivers like you bad mouth recruiters like you are better than them.
As far as lying....once again, Im lied to by drivers much more than you are lied to by recruiters. Yet, you seem to lump everyone into the same group. Fact is that people in every profession lie.
As far as your description of recruiters....you seem to be steriotyping. Gee....you drivers dont seem to like when people steriotype drivers....wouldnt that be a little hypocritical of you? As far as lying, thats the fastest way for me to lose my job. It just takes one time me being monitored and me lying for me to be boxed up (fired) Have we ever had a recruiter here who lied? of course.....they are no longer with us. I figured out many years ago that the best way to succeed at this job is to be truthful about the job offered, that way the driver I hire will refer more drivers to me. Ive been doing this 5 years and Im one of the top recruiters here. As far as your discription of a young college graduate being a recruiter. Not even close. Our recruiters come from many different sales backgrounds. I would say about 2/3 are college graduates. And thanks, but many of us arent that young. Me personally.....Im 41 with a BS in aviation and an MBA, with a background in investment sales.
I tell you what....yesterday I got a PM from someone from this board. I set him up for OTR.....I am giving him permission to come out here and tell this board if anything I told him was a lie. -
Red, I would become a recruiter, but I wouldn't see a paycheck. The recruiting scheme is such that the only way a recruiter makes money is if he brings warm bodies to orientations. This weeds out the Tips and the Reds from the ranks, as these guys would tell the truth and no one would choose to go to work at places like J.B. Hunt. If you are a recruiter and you tell would-be drivers how it really is, you don't convince anyone to come to an orienation, meaning no pay for you!
But plenty of drivers go to orientations, meaning recruiters are telling lies. And remember--a lie of omission is still a lie.
At C.R. England once, a trainer / "orientation jockey" told his class they couldn't make money running legally. The jockey was canned. I know that's what would happen to me, too. I'd tell anybody and everybody the truth, and my new company would wonder why suddenly no one is coming to orientation. An hour later, I'd be heading for the exits.
I think recruiters are pampered to be recruiters from birth. They probably come out of the womb holding a business card. This keeps them from feeling sympathy for drivers. Feeling sympathy for drivers means recruiters wouldn't be the good liars all recruiters must be.
I suspect anyone who has been a driver before would be turned down if and when he applies to become a recruiter. Former drivers don't make good liars, at least not if they're lying for a living.
"It takes a special breed.....to be a recruitin' man. And a poker face....to tell that great big lie." -
If I were working for the right company, I could easily be a recruiter.
Naturally it'd have to be a company like ABF. I couldn't be a recruiter for a J.B. Hunt or a Swift. These companies have turnover that is through the roof, indicating somebody is/must be telling fibs.
Ten drivers quitting a week? Maybe.
One hundred drivers quitting a week? No way.
Two hundred+ drivers quitting a week? Get out of my face, liar.
