Why would you want to work for JB Hunt.
Please don't make my mistake i have been a trucker for 29 years and have never in my life work for a company that says one thing and does another like jb hunt can and will do.
I was fired for complaning to much about the safty problem and mangment problems i was having at my dedicated acct my work record says for insuboranation.
Then they will fight you on your unemployment (they can say what ever they want) and when you go to unemployment court they all of a sudden have you as the wrong person just to mess with you and make you lose a days pay.
JB Hunt make millons a day what you lose going to court is nothing to jb hunt.
JB Hunt then report bad thing to Dac will lie to new employer to keep you form getting a new job.(i have been around to long i know how to get around this)

    PLEASE DON'T MAKE MY MISTAKE

I watched an actual JB Hunt recruiter get grilled about this subject on another forum recently. From what I gathered there are two key points to getting your name off the recruiting list.

    1) You need to stay on the line long enough for them to actually take your name off the list. Their computerized system removes your information from their computer screen as soon as you hang up the phone. (convenient I thought) So simply saying "take me off your list, click" won't work you have to stay on the line and take their never ending pitch.

    2) The recruiter does NOT take you off the list, they transfer you to a special person to do that. SO if your call isn't transfered to another person you will still be on the list.

I suspect that it is set up this way just to make it next to impossible to get removed from the list.

Which carrier(s) would you suggest are good ones to work for? I also believe that you underestimate the number of persons out there who have high ethical and moral standards. The problem with a lot of the professional drivers and trucking company employees today is that even though they personally believe they possess high ethical and moral standards, they are not free to uphold these standards without fear of losing their jobs.

Yep! TopFlights just caught another stealth JB recruiter. They are so obvious. Per the conversation, JB inside recruiters usually don't dial the phone. All 115 of them sit at their desks in Lowell, AR while the computer dials from a huge database. The person who called you today does not know someone else called you yesterday. Anyone who has ever driven for JB is in the database. Anyone who has ever applied at JB is in the database. Most people with CDL'S are in the database. I read in a forum where a JB recruiter denied harassing drivers with repeated calls because he claimed he could not call back, only the computer could, and that was randomly. This is not true. If a driver acts half way interested on a computer generated call, the telemarketer(recruiter) will write down the name and phone number and call back manually.

As a former JB recruiter, I know how the system works. My posting should generate a tirade from Me-at-JB, now banned, but under an assumed name, claiming I have sour grapes because I was not successful at JB. That would be a badge of honor.

you must be one of those angry ex-employees.I'm sorry but not everyone feels the way you do.I have worked for some big companys like marten transport, usxpress and werner before.I am currently employed with jbhunt for my 2nd time around.1st time I left because I thought I could do better elsewhere.I like my home time and you will not find many companys where you can bring home $900+ a week and be home 2 days a week.I dont mean 2 days like other companys(home sat morning leave sunday night)I get home thursday afternoon and leave out sunday morning EVERY week.(i am on intermodal acc out of memphis, run a 400 mile radius of memphis)(and before you say it containers are not that bad 98%drop and hook maybe 30000lbs).as to seeing trucks parked in the lot all the time,jb hunt does not allow trucks to be taken home withen a mileage point, but a few do it,they wont say anything about it unless it needs worked on.when i worked for marten I was on home time,I had a medical emergency and was on the operating table in critical condition,my girlfriend contacted my dispatcher and was told if I couldnt go out that day they would come get my truck and I could find another job.I have never given them a problem,I always ran 2 weeks at a time, sometimes 4000 miles a week.my girlfriend and my mom had to go clean my truck out while a wrecker was hooking up to it,and i was on the operating table!like all companys they have there problems but if you use common sense with them and talk to them so they know whats going on everything is good.I'm not knockin martin they were a good company to work for as long as you dont go home, but they left me hangin in a bad situation and I felt like i was left hanging.usxpress I wont waste my time saying anything about them(automatics in a semi)I dont care anything for automatics, werner was a great company but home time wasnt that good with them.all companys have there ups and downs if you dont like it you dont got to work for them.also I want to add yea trucks are slow but i noticed something, you make it there just a little faster than me but how often do you see me in a scale getting dot insp?looking at my logs?thats usually when i pass you up!and I still make more money than you.And recuriters usually are given random names and numbers out of a phone book by other drivers,I know ive seen them do it before.

    It takes all kinds........
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are the exception to the rule and if I believe you that is. I have all the settlement sheets while my husband ran for JBH and they speak for themselves. And before you comment, my husband was willing to run hard for them and never refused a load (unless he couldn't deliver it legally). And if JBH runs drivers like you said they do you then why is it on any given day I see about 10 drivers in a local truck stop in for hours? I guess when you work for them you can take long breaks because the loads are few and far between. Good luck with them. I hope you stay happy. We found a great company that beats JBH hands down and is great with home time and still gives consistantly high miles.

I always see a few jb hunt drivers in a truck stop complaning about loads, not having any or having to wait to get loaded.thats part of trucking with every company, and it never fails when i go into the memphis terminal I see the same drivers in time after time complaning about loads.that was with ANY company I've been at,Im only 29 and have been driving since the day i turned 21 and even I know how to make the miles I want.before my surgery my girlfriend at the time rode with me for about a year and she could never understand why you had to wait to get loaded. If i go to a shipper I try to be a nice as i can to them and i always got loaded or unloaded quicker than anyone else.and now I mostly get drop and hooks, out of 9 loads this week I only had to wait for one load and when they found out i was there they had my loaded in about 1hr.also helps to jump the night planers if he changes your hrs,he did me that way 3 times and I crawled all over him for changing my eta's and my said del times and ruined my next loads.I have talked to several drivers who were sitting because someone behind a computer tried to drive the truck with his computer.computers just cant drive trucks and if the driver lets them do this they dont need a load that bad anyway.and if you come to jb hunt looking for 3000+ miles a week it aint going to happen, they like about 2500 miles but that doesnt mean you cant get more because I worked 6 days one week and was able to pull 3600 for the week.

I agree all companies have ups and downs but I can honestly say that JBH is the most consistent down company out there. They use outrageous recruiting full of false promises, they lie constantly about dedicated jobs being available. I know more drivers with JBH horror stories than any other company. In my opinion if 1 or 2 drivers say something about a company I am still willing to find out for myself what it is about, but when 500 drivers say negative things about a company that is enough for me. Just go to any truck stop have a seat and announce "I love JBH they are the best company ever" after everyone finishes laughing at you, you will get to hear dozens of horror stories.
