Back in the 70s, Schneider I think was a union job and paid very well.
Not sure what that has to do with today though….just trivia I guess.
JB Hunt or Schneider?

JB offers home daily runs. If you can get one of those, #### going over the road.John Joel Glanton Thanks this.

Hey @JStokley! Some of us prefer OTR over local or home daily. You don't. That is fine. There are sectors of this industry to suit about every driver. I have absolutely no reason or desire to be home daily.John Joel Glanton and Chinatown Thank this.

Starting out I will be regional so out 5, home 2. I think this is a good balance for now. After six months I will decide the next move. Go OTR and stay out longer or get something that has me home daily.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Home daily normally means that you sleep, ####, shower, and shave at home 5-6 days a week. Sleep usually gets short changed by the other 3 S 'es. Just be aware of that.John Joel Glanton Thanks this.

Well I survived my 3 week orientation with Schneider. Everything went well. Home now relaxing this weekend. Monday or Tuesday I get assigned my truck.
There's plenty of good info on this forum so I wont do a long write up about my experience. Overall it was positive. Can't complain. If any new guys have any questions feel free to ask. -
I remember those trucks. I think there was a black "U" decal on the union drivers trucks; don't remember for sure, but some decal identifying the trucks as union.
Talking to those drivers, they were always complaining about, "Schneider is always trying to screw us and the union isn't fighting for us and we need to teach them a lesson by going on strike."

The Schneider story
Schneider National Carriers is non-union, but Schneider Transport remained a union carrier under agreement with the Teamsters.Last edited: Jan 22, 2022

Today, there is no decal necessary. The "U" is universally understood as UNDERPAID! LOL
