Ha that is the exact thing that happened to me. Was working six years for them, even had a driver of the month medal and $250 reward and picture on the wall but got a call one day from safety saying to bring back my truck and load to one of the atlanta terminals, they found an incident where i had pressed on the pedal while cruise control was on in order to get up behind and pass a slower truck and was terminated right there. Had to take a greyhound to get home.

Turned out to be a good thing though, that was in 2019 and the day after being fired I was hired by an awesome flatbed company much closer to me right outside of knoxville and have been getting percentage pay making about twice as much as i ever did with jb hunt each week.

I drove for JB like 14 years ago.

Everyone got there the night before orientation. I got flown in.

Dude is like," Tomorrow morning you will have your drug screen. If you know you cannot pass your drug screen, enjoy a dinner on us, and a night in the motel. Do not show up tomorrow. If you take the test and fail, you've basically flushed your career."

    There were 14 people there.

The next morning there were 8.

Isn’t not going considered refusal to test which is treated the same as a positive?

Yes it is unless he comes up with excuse, or tells them he has another or better offer. But that will blow his chances with JB hunt for the time being. Like I said anyone who isn’t clean should not be considering trucking period.

Testing positive for drugs is the worst you can do. Then you have to enroll in SAP program and when you finished with program a lot of companies claim their insurance won’t cover you. Really limits your trucking options.

My neighbor used to be JB Hunt driver, he told me that when the safety sense stuff first came out the trucks were constantly getting false alerts and slowing the trucks down. So all the drivers just started keeping their foot down and not using the cruise control.

But then someone fell asleep with their foot to the floor and crashed through a work zone killing a roadside worker.
So now that’s a fireable offense.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.
