Hang in there Florida Girl. If I'm not mistaking this is your first otr experience with your hubby, and it is very stressful I know for both of you. It takes a strong woman to be a truckers wife. I'm sure he's doing everything he can, but unfortunately we have to include our bosses doing everything they can, and in this industry. That's a big conflict.
We men really know the sacrifice of our wives and children back @ home. We hope they understand we are doing everything we can. Sometimes things don't work out the way we plan, but we have to move forward. I'm sure you are an awesome wife. I hope you 2 are supporting each other when things go wrong. If he is going to be in this business for any time. He's going to miss alot of Bday's, anniversary's , holidays etc. But hey it doesn't stop you 2 from enjoying the time when he does get home.
This is a very dangerous job, and some don't never make it home. So hope all goes well with you 2, and he gets home safely. Whenever that may be, and you 2 can enjoy your time together. Just know his heart is with you. Even though his body may not be.

Got an 11pm delivery tomorrow night at Millard in GA, got here a couple of hours ago............they will not unload me early!.............................

I agree with Hazmat,
It does take a very special lady to be a truckers wife...My girl is at home and pregnant. She too has NEVER experienced what it's like to be a truckers wife "girlfriend". She has been VERY supportive and seems like you are as well, Florida Girl.
I'm supposed to be home Friday and I'm here in Worthington, MN and deliver to Fort Dodge, IA tomorrow A.M. then off to Marshalltown, IA to pick up and del in Chi town Thursday morning....from there who knows, but one thing that I do know is that when I do get home I'm going to spend all that hometime making up for the 2 weeks I was gone. Trucking is a very demanding job for both the men and women out here as well as those we leave behind at home.
People called me all sorts of names (on this website) when I was trying to come back out on the road. They said that I must be some sort of A-hole to be leaving a pregnant girl at home to fend for herself, however the ONLY reason I am back out on the road is for her and our baby.
Your man will get home and my advise to you is this: Love him, support him, don't argue with him about minor things, and try and cherish every minute you spend with him. I know that's what I do with my girl.
The economy's in a downward spiral with no fix yet in sight and just having this job is a Godsend for me and my family. The money's not all that bad either...It's a lifestyle, NOT a job. If you ever think of trucking as a job you will drive yourself CRAZY...
HANG IN THERE Florida Girl and tell your man to buy you one of those T-shirts from the truck stop that reads, "The Only thing tougher then a truck driver, is a Truckers Wife"
I picked one up for my girl and gave it to her when I went home a couple of weeks ago. She wears it when she gets down and I guess it makes her feel a little stronger when she's at her weakest....
Good luck to you two and God BlessJarhed1964, The Challenger, hazmat777 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I hate how companies cower to these receivers....pay fines for late deliveries, let the lumpers (company employees sometimes with a different name) extort money from them, allow them to hold us up at docks, just all the things that make trucking trucking.
Feel if the company would stand up for themselves a little more then maybe these companies would change their attitudes....
TRUCKING IS ALL WRONG, The trucking companies DO NOT NEED the receivers, the receivers NEED US!!!
There will always be freight to move, but the companies that can't get the freight will close and be forgotten....
Standing up for truckers rights since 1998 and Standing against ignorant Americans all my life LOL!!!hazmat777 Thanks this. -
Yeah they don't need thier Aunt Jemima frozen waffles that bad!.......................

My question is why JBS doesn't have an account with Millard that would let us drop the trailers. That happen to me a few months ago. I got there on thrusday morning about 8 in Louisville had a 10pm appt. Was hoping they could unload it early so I can transflo my paper work and get paid for that trip. Wrote my name on the board and told me to come back @9pm and then didn't get unloaded till about 12.
I know I've dropped and hooked at the one in Allentown once, but since then I have always live loaded.
Amen Mr. SVC I hope all goes well with you and your new baby on the way.
Also bro I thought you was on NE regional but it seems you always in the midwest is that there boundary or something? -
Harley you pick that load up in Jackson TN?
-
Yeah it was drop and hook at the shipper, picked it up early! -
There is some chick here at the Wilco I-75 exit 201, goes by the name "squeaky clean"...............she is offering to clean your truck and give ya a "full body massage"...............just watched her climb her old, big, ugly arse up into some dudes truck!
IF I EVER GET THAT DESPERATE SOMEBODY PLEASE SHOOT ME!
She looks like somebody's fat GRANDMA!
-
Yeah I picked up @ the same place like you said. Drop n Hook. We have a bunch of trailers over there. I had relayed the load with a guy so I can get home, but it was also going to Millard. He said it had an ugly delivery time on it as well.
My thing is if JBS has so many loads going there. Go ahead and get an account set up so the drivers don't have to sit all day. But you did say you picked it up early but its only 400 miles to the place.
Seems JBS is getting alot of accounts with short hauls with crappy delivery times. Those loads must pay well, but the driver doesn't see it.
