Got to Utah on Tuesday afternoon to split my load so I could get one going to NorCal for my Thursday home time. After sitting in Hyrum for 3 days I HAVE A PPN that delivers in Oakland on Sunday. So I will get home in time for my wife to go to bed for her week of work. Where are all of these new guy miles I keep hearing about. I averaged 1800 mi a week during my month out. My DM told me the "Utah Load Planner" got fired yesterday. Hope not on account of me. Hate when anybody looses a job. Going home baby.

Shastamedic you sound kinda like me. Get home today. My wife is at work, tmrw she works, she's off Sunday. Goes back to work Monday. It just never really works out for a sucker. I mean trucker. Tee hee hee, but at least I can lay in a bed that doesn't have the springs poking me in d back.

You know what Kills me I was at home Friday came back out Wed at noon, Drove down to Mcdonough (659 Miles) Empty and nothing as of yet I am in chicken hell here people this is a joke right. 3 days 659 miles??? WTF is wrong with this picture..


I figured it out on the way to work on the JBS bus they all have helmets on and crayons on the floor, most of them eat the crayons and dialing numbers on the phone is a challenge.

Why would they need new trainers? No more New Trucks.

Dropped a Cactus load in Greeley yesterday and am headed for home time ( after spending 48 hrs waiting for a load in Cactus making $40/ day Layover pay).
The yard looks like a ghost town without dozens & dozens & dozens of trucks waiting for shiney faced new drivers, the few waiting to go out said this was the last orientation till june, very interesting development.
Progress is being made with a fuel island under construction, no sign of the new wash bay yet.

Glad to hear your rollin Shasta, 2 days layover in Dumas Tx felt like a lifetime, although with 2 other JBS bobtails waiting there I didn't feel like the lone ranger.

A 18:00 Cactus pickup and a 6:00 Greeley delivery with a " are you going to make an ontime delivery" call at 13:00 when I was taking a powernap when under 2 hours away from delivery. WTF?

My average daily miles dropped below 400 for the two weeks out, 700 mile loads stretched out 3 days.

It feels like the plants bought out by JBS resents us if they had their own fleets replaced and we are not a priority.

For a few weeks having the next PP before you delivered your current load was encouraging that they had a clue, that was short lived.

I have a regional opportunity for another carrier, hauling beer, which may be even more recession proof than beef, pork or chicken.
Sounds to good to be true, $2,500 sign on bonus, home every weekend, 66mph truck, all West of the Mississippi, take my dog, substanitial per mile raise.
Downside, lots of scenic mtn driving to the west coast with a super single trailer (insert sarcasm font).

Tuff spot to refuse, after loosing a walmart lumper reciept (yep my fault) and although it shows the standard $50 lumper charge on my comdata card for the check with the corresponding date, I guess I get to pay for this unload per payroll.
No Ticky no Laundry.

Have spoke to many frustrated JBSers in the last few weeks, getting loads late out of busy plants does not sound like a lack of freight, wierd all nite runs for crappy delivery times, most of us are not robots, whats the answer? Use, our excellent health benefits for day sleeping ambian prescriptions, and puppy uppers to run all night?
Hope that's not the solution.

 

Wow Planners are on the ball this morning. I put in my PTA in Yesterday for what time I was coming off home time. @ 8:10 am I get a message. PP. Like usual I get the load going down to Conroe 428mi load that Picks up at 1400 even though I set my PTA for 8am and Delivers at 13:30 the next day. This is the latest one I've seen most of the time its 11 or 12. Sometimes they let you get unloaded early. I normally get there around mid night.

Doc Holiday welcome to the life of real JBS drivers. This is how its been for me since day 1 even b4 they cut the trucks back. I really didn't start getting loads that needed to be there in a hurry until after they cut the trucks back.

It was funny one day they tell us we are losing customers because we are being late, and the next message is Oh we are cutting down your trucks. It's unreal. Do you see why we have a good on time delivery. Because you can drive in reverse and get their in the amount of time they give you for most of these loads.

But who cares. I got a dusty red truck that shines when I wash it, and b4 I go into one of the plants. Good health Insurance, and a green light at every scale. I love this place. Money is over rated anyway!!!

 

By the way DocRox. You might want to do ya research on that company giving out a 2500 signing bonus, and being home every weekend. That sounds like a lie from a trucking magazine. Tell me the company so I can go read about how they were told a fibb. I bet they probably even said top drivers make 91,000 last year. Take it from me bro. If its 2 good to be true. It is. Or they kinda forget to tell you. That most of your running is going to be illegal and that weekend is a 34hr restart when u get home Saturday night..
